BREAKING: Golden State’s Bob Myers – a two-time executive of the year and architect of four NBA championships -- is stepping down as the franchise’s president and general manager, he told ESPN on Tuesday. “It’s just time,” Myers said.

Sheesh, nepotism or nah

He won’t be out of work long if he wants to work again

First domino.
With the new CBA and the new penalties with the luxury tax, Golden State will be doing some house cleaning.

Yup, Myers is getting out before he has to deal with all the BS the Warriors are about to go through.

Very likely doesn't want to deal with Draymond anymore

Bob Myers has been one of the best GMs in the league in recent years.
HOWEVER
His contract moves and failure to get a big man are hurting the Warriors right now. Klay, Draymond, DiVincenzo are all on expiring contracts after next season, and the Warriors already have Steph, Wiggins, and Poole signed through at least 2025-2026. They won't have much cap room available to sign a decent big man unless they make a trade or two, and I can't imagine they're going to waste Steph's last seasons as a tier one player. To me, that screams sign-and-trade for Draymond or a trade for Poole. Will be interesting to see what they do going forward.
ETA: Don't get me wrong, I like Looney and think he adds value to this team. But, relying on him to be your starting center in a league dominated by seven-footers (Giannis, Jokic, Embiid, AD, etc.) isn't a long-term answer IMO.

So lucking into Steph Curry is called being an "architect?"

Bob "Sean Payton" Myers. Leave his organization in shambles and then cut and run.

Draymond
Iguodala
Harrison Barnes
Andrew Bogut
KD
Steph could have been just another amazing player without a title. Myers bringing in the above gave him 4

Payton won 4 titles?

Myers didn't have anything to do with the Warriors drafting Klay. His predecessor, Larry Riley drafted him. And he only got KD due to a fluky one-time Cap Spike and Curry signing a ridiculously favorable contract due to his ankle problems. I don't know how much credit he deserves for that.

Steph and Klay were already on those teams before he was GM.
Draymond was a lucky 2nd round pick in his first year as GM.
He did a great job keeping the team together over the years, but that's a lot easier to do when the owner is willing to fork over 100+ millions of dollars in luxury tax. Honestly the best thing that happened to them was Steph having injury issues early in his career. They were able to lock him up long term for relatively cheap which left wiggle room to get KD.

Get out before the house of cards collapses but still will be in high demand for his next gig

Smart move by him. His tenure with that team has been an unqualified success. He's only 48, probably will take some time off and ponder his next challenge. He'll be able to name his price whenever he comes back to the NBA.
