I’m in Tampa for work and decided to catch a game. First time here & kinda surprised. Not sure what I expected. Good atmosphere, but these boys need a new stadium.

10 runs in the first 2 innings though, so that’s fun.

Did you touch a Ray yet? You can do that behind center field.

Probably won't happen, wait until a ball hits the rafters/ceiling, then they have to figure out what the hit "should have been".

If they removed the roof it would look a whole lot better. But they really need a stadium in Tampa, not at the bottom of a peninsula that’s hard to get to.

I think that’s a great point, too. This was a 40 minute drive from my hotel in Tampa. Ooof.

It is, but 25 years of data suggests it’s geographically not the best place to put a building you’d ideally like to draw 30,000 people on a Tuesday night.

They said they will build a new place in Tampa Bay, which includes St Pete, so not sure we are getting our wish of having it actually in Tampa. Was hopeful they would build somewhere around Ybor but they wanted a retractable roof and apparently you need more property square footage for that (forgot the reasoning) so I think that idea is all but dead from people I've asked around town.

Went there last summer. Area is nice, field was meh. Crowd was about 1/4 of that one. It was fun, and I checked another stadium off the list.
