Only a matter of time now, it sucks to see fans have to witness their team leave. As for relocation cities, it’s probably between Salt Lake City, Quebec, Houston, and Atlanta

Tilman Fertitta recently put in a $5.5 Billion bid on the Washington Redskins, but wouldn't overpay the already insane number like the new owner did.

he's wanting another franchise, and now with this being on a much smaller level of money like the Coyotes ... it's safe to say he's the front runner to bring the NHL to Houston.

Should be Houston.

Absolutely NOT Atlanta, which is literally the worst pro sports town in this country.

Portland is an option to look at, it's really taken off in Seattle.

0% chance sadly

#1 NHL still wants to expand hockeys footprint by hook or by crook. That’s why Arizona didn’t move 10 years ago.

#2 Nobody in the East would move to the West without a huge fight.

Not sure if Houston works either bc IIRC the Rockets have been very hostile to sharing the Toyota Center and I don’t think the NHL will around for a new building to get built. If this team moves I bet they move this summer.

My money is on Kansas City, maybe Salt Lake.

I vaguely remember this being true.

Kansas City

Excellent pick. Assuming that arena can configure easily, I can see it being a success.

What if it’s the Rockets owner that owns the NHL team?

Oddly enough we would never have Auston Matthews without the Phoenix Coyotes. Cool story...

Auston Taylour Matthews[1] was born in San Ramon, California[2] to Brian, from California, and Ema, originally from Hermosillo, Mexico.[3] He and his family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona when he was two months old,[4] and he began attending Phoenix Coyotes games at age two.[5] His favorite players to watch were Shane Doan and Daniel Brière.[6] Initially, Matthews did not have much interest in the sport but was captivated by the Zamboni machine that cleaned the ice during intermissions.[7] He first expressed a desire to play hockey shortly after his fifth birthday, and began playing with the Arizona Bobcats minor hockey program.[8] On January 16, 2006, Matthews (who was eight years old at the time) attended a game between the Coyotes and Washington Capitals where he witnessed Alexander Ovechkin's famous goal that would come to be known simply as "The Goal", where Ovechkin scored a goal while lying on his back after having been tripped by the Coyotes' defense. In a 2016 interview, Matthews referred to the goal as "probably one of the best goals ever".[9]

As a child, Matthews played both hockey and baseball. According to his father, baseball was his best sport; Auston's hand-eye coordination made him an excellent hitter. However, Matthews opted to pursue a career in hockey because he disliked the slow pace of baseball. When he first started playing hockey, his parents knew almost nothing of the sport. His main coach during his youth was Boris Dorozhenko, who had previously founded the national ice hockey program of Mexico. During Dorozhenko's first few years in the U.S., he lived with Matthews and his parents.[11][12] Matthews played in the 2010 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Kharkov minor ice hockey team.[13]

The Toyota center deal is Houston was with the last Rockets owner. And it was it couldn’t be shared with an NHL team unless he had part ownership once we sold the rockets it allowed the new owner, Tillman, a great path the hockey ownership.
