O’s Legacy…Hero or Villain?

Ed Orgeron…the same coach that brought us a title in 2019 is now the direct barrier to the progress of the LSU football program.
Will he be remembered as a hero or a villain?
If he resigns he’ll be a hero. If he holds us hostage he’ll be a villain.

A human interest story of how to climb to the mountain top only to fall down the other side. A sympathetic character who could not handle success and let it all go to his head.

As they say: you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain. It appears O lived to long.

Hopefully in hindsight we see him as a fun figure head and remember the 2019 season not that he was always way in over his head and basically trial and errored his way to a NC by changing the offense every year till it worked

Just another example of how an unqualified cult of personality with below average intelligence, but reptilian ability to con/persuade, climbed way higher than he should have.

Depends on how quietly he fades away after he's canned. Go back down da bayou for a few years then hire someone who knows how to write and spell. Then after the dust settles write a book and do motivational speaking/ mumbling.

He’s basically Harvey Dent

Currently, neither.
Maybe he will be a hero when he returns to Tiger stadium in 2029 with the rest of the 2019 team to celebrate the 10 yr reunion of the best LSU Football team ever.

I'm ready to play the hero card as soon as he's shown the gate.

Depends. We know he wears them.

Eh, or we remember that 2019 was all Aranda, Brady and Burrow and that O pretty much fell into the role. This is ok, and has happened historically. Nothing wrong actually recognizing the people that made it happen.

Probably neither to be honest. He had one of the best seasons in CFB history and that's something that nobody will ever be able to take away from him. He'll probably be remembered like a Larry Coker or Gene Chizik.
It sucks that he had to deal with unprecedented attrition and covid the following year, and then this year has really been a matter of horrible O line recruiting catching up to him. But, he's responsible for that, so... here we are.
With competent O-line play, and without the ridiculous amount of injuries, I honestly believe that this is a top 10-15 team.

He did some good things
He finally opened up the offense to show potential to all recruits that it can be done
The problem right now is LSU is losing games in the trenches
and it's the main reason the running game is struggling
They ran the ball well early in O tenure but it's been a struggle the last two seasons
Plus the defense lacks playmakers at LB and the DL seems to be out of position way too often

I think we can start remembering him fondly once this is finally over.

A villain? Really? Give me a break.
How is he a villain? Hes not maliciously/intentionally destroying the program. I think its pretty clear he doesn't know what he is doing at all.
In all honesty, I think he's lost his drive that he had prior to 19. I don't see the actual effort to get better/find an edge.

Brilliantly stated “TRUTH” and that is why he is a villain, like Edwin Edwards, Obama, Joe Biden and other unsavory characters we have had to endure and suffer!!!!

I mentioned in a post he should resign to gain any respect for anything he has done..
He is too pompous and capitalistic to do so.
