I was so caught up in the ridiculous explanation of the first play, I completely forgot he brought Grimes into it as well when asked about the freshmen on the right side.

Orgeron's best quote after the loss Saturday was when he said "This is on me, I'll take responsibility for this, but, the play calling needs to be better, our defense needs to be better, our players have to get better and be better at the point of attack." Good job O, way to take one for your team

It seems like O is gonna isolate himself if he keeps throwing players and coaches under the bus. It's his job to make sure they coach or play better

Right, he basically said "I'm going to take the blame" and "I'm not going to take the blame" in the same sentence.

The worst CEOs in business blame others and fire everyone under them when things don't go right. Sometimes other people are the issue. But if there are issues in every aspect of your organization, then the CEO is responsible. And look at this, we have a bad CEO

What can he do? I'm firmly against O thanks to his performance this year, but this is a no-win for any coach when it comes to visibility.

He shuts down the conversation and shoulders the blame - it's coach-speak and dishonest.

He identifies frick-ups and places blame where appropriate - he's throwing players/coaches under the bus.

Frankly, I'm OK with the bus - let's hear it, I'll decide whether he's full of shite or telling the truth.

He tried to have his cake and eat it too, he tried to do the PR thing and take blame but then placed blame.

referring to brossette as the "3rd string back" was pretty disrespectful and shitty IMO. You can say his name

It's lose-lose for him but completely, unconditionally shouldering the blame publically lets your players and coaches know that you have their back. That's what he's there for. You don't think players and coaches know that they're fricking up?

He's going the more selfish route though. Assistants can plausibly blame others because they're only responsible for one aspect of the team. He's not an assistant anymore.

The "one team one heartbeat" should be renamed to "one team no pulse".

He could start by not doing both of these in the same sentence. And the shot at Brossette was uncalled for.
