LINK / What is y’all take on this? I always wondered why she was so silent about BG one of if not her greatest players she ever coached. Now I’m not talking about BG’s situation, but I’m talking about she didn’t acknowledge any support for BG which I thought was a lil odd. Saying all that I still support Coach Kim 100% because she still recruits some of the greatest players in the country and is one hell of a coach.

Griner broke Russian laws and was arrested for doing so. Then our government prioritized her over a US Marine, despite her hating our country.

I wouldn't support her either.

Hit the trifecta. Managed to get COVID, race, and LGBTQFG all wrapped up into one hit piece.

She did, it just wasn’t a story when she commented on it. 3 months later, when she was asked again, and she said she didn’t have anymore to add on the subject, all of the sudden it became a story.

Do you think Vladimir Putin was waiting to hear from Kim Mulkey to decide whether or not to release Brittney Griner?

Pandering just to fit in is pointless.

The take is easy. A healthy policy for coaches is to remain apolitical. The BG situation was anything but. Taking any kind of stance would have been an enormous lose-lose.

Much like the Glenn G situation, the reporter that showed up to ask her about Griner was just trying to stir up shite and write a hit piece and KM wasn’t having any of it.

How you figure, I mean Coach Kim to a stance on the Baylor sexual situation.

She did talk about it though. The media didn't run a bunch of articles when she did so that's probably why you didn't hear about it. They only started circling the waters when she told a reporter she wasn't going to talk about it anymore because the season was starting and she had a team to coach and wasn't going to answer the same question in every press conference.

I agree with some of what you said about not agreeing with her since she broke the law. But also know that Marine you're talking about was kicked out of the Marine Corps with a Bad Conduct discharge for larceny and other offenses.

Mulkey June 28th 2022 Tiger rag podcast.

quote:

“Well, I keep up with it like you guys do as far as what’s in the national media. I don’t make public comments about it. I think that’s a personal issue. You just want everybody to come home safely. “I pray for Britney. I want her home safely. I think there’s lots of people speaking out on her behalf, and those of us who don’t necessarily speak publicly about it certainly are praying for her.”

Mulkey Oct 18th 2022 Griner’s birthday
quote:

Mulkey finally broke her silence after weeks of media humiliation on the occasion of Brittney Griner’s 32nd birthday on October 18. Kim Mulkey wished her former student a happy birthday. Then, she went on to address her critics impressively.

During the podcast, Mulkey revealed that she followed the national media regarding Griner’s situation in Russia, just like everyone. She did not make any public comments because it was a personal matter for her. Mulkey had also pointed out that many people have been speaking out for Griner and the ones who remained silent were certainly praying for her return. She added, “I pray for Brittney. I want her home.”

Mulkey Dec 14th on Griner’s release

quote:

"God is good. Prayers are powerful. Brittney is on her way home where she belongs," Mulkey told ESPNW's M.A. Voepel. "Our prayers remain with her and her family as they recover and heal together."

Not sure why the Liberal media has its sights set on coach Mulkey. But here is the proof that they are willing to lie about a narrative they are pushing. Literally everyone thinks Coach Kim never commented on Griner through all that. And it just is not true.

King, you should do your research. But 2 of our Baylor family members told us the TRUTH not reported by the media who have their own agenda. Family members still live in Waco, still work at Baylor, and Baylor fans.

They said Mulkey gets a lot of bad press/bad rap about Griner. They had season tickets during Griner's 4 years and financial contributors to Baylor WBB. They have met Griner and Mulkey at some of the games and said they witnessed first-hand some of their own Baylor fans and opponents' fans would yell nasty stuff at Griner, that she was a man, ugly to look at, should not be playing with women, etc. Even several reporters would write negative things about Griner. The one person who took up for her, protected her, went after the fans and reporters was Mulkey.

Baylor is a private, conservative Baptist college and have in their school's bylaws that a student athlete cannot have homosexual relationship while at Baylor. If Mulkey openly supported it, then Mulkey would have violated their bylaws and possibly lost her job. Mulkey told Griner she didn't care what she did in private, but Baylor (not Mulkey) wouldn't let her be open about her sexuality. Even Griner amended her statement after her book saying it wasn't Mulkey, it was Baylor's rules that prevented her for being open about her sexuality. These are the facts that the media won't disclose because they despise Mulkey, and she doesn't care what they think about her.

A US privileged citizen broke the laws of a foreign country and was arrested. Its not like she was wrongly imprisoned.

Correct. The national media's attacks on CKM go back to Griners days at Baylor. Her sexuality was a huge issue even when CKM worked hard to keep it out of the media; much like she was doing with Reese's issues. Griner may have backtracked on blaming CKM but not very publically. Griner let CKM take all the heat & once again, Coach kept her mouth shut. That's why all the shite that GG is trying to stir up is so dumb. The shite with Griner at Baylor was a huge national media mess & CKM handled exactly the same way.
