How close did he come to being LSU's HC?
I vaguely recall some story about a restaurant meeting with the LSU AD falling through.
I always thought del Rio would have made LSU a good coach.

He was scheduled to meet with Bertman
The Jags owner told him if he interviewed, he’d be in breach of his contract and let go

they hosted he and jerry rice (wr coach) on the same weekend. Was almost a done deal

Seems there could’ve been ways around that. And what ever happened to “I didn’t even get out of the car”. Then, get out of the freaking car to talk to Bertman. If they hit it off, then screw the breach.
