The McMahon family is all CLASS

Ran into them after the North Texas game and man do they love LSU. I’m a McMahon critic, but had some great conversations with them and now I want to see what he does with that class coming in next year. Just a great group of people and McMahon wants nothing more than to turn us into a contender and he hears the criticism loud and clear. Told his mom we can be the biggest assholes and it wasn’t really McMahon, it was more the cards we were dealt. Anyway, in short for all of us keyboard warriors, meeting and actually talking to a human involved is a game changer and just an outstanding group of people.

He’s also following a very popular coach who many felt was wrongly terminated. It’s a tough situation.

I talked to him in the Omaha airport championship weekend. Super approachable and down to earth guy.

Met his younger brother middle of Dayton game. Sat behind his wife and kids. His son and I actually went off on a Dayton dude who was randomly saying how we suck at football but suck worse at basketball. They’re good people, McMahon is a good and passionate coach. He’s recruiting well, and if he can add just a couple more portal guys we can be back to tourney next year

His brother is a BAW. and frick Dayton, what do they have outside of a random good basketball team? Their athletic program is pathetic. I didn’t have any shite talked to me last night like you received but I would’ve reminded them that they are a nobody within college athletics and Toppin isn’t walking through that door.

His brother is cool as shite and just that the whole family understands how passionate LSU fans are and it shocked them a bit. I’m like shite y’all have no idea. No one will build you up quicker and tear you down quicker than LSU. I cannot emphasize enough how awesome that whole family is. Nobody has any issues with him personally. Just seems to be in over his head here.
At the end of the day this is a business and results matter.
ETA. His teams have not maximized their talent. Not sure if amassing more talent will fix that. Hope I’m wrong, but the sample size to date doesn’t look good.

McMahon needs to leave LSU ASAP to save his career before LSU ruins it. He is a good coach, man, etc. but LSU Administration does not give a frick about men's basketball. McMahon is too nice to ever win at LSU

I always thought he was a genuinely good guy. Your post confirms that. But also confirms my thought that he is not “sleazy” enough to have big success as a college basketball coach. College basketball is the sleaziest sport in the world.
