I searched and didn't see anything on this. First I've heard of it.

BATON ROUGE, LA - On Friday, September 22nd LSU will unveil The Tiger Walk Display featuring former LSU offensive lineman Ruffin Rodrigue.
Ruffin Adam Rodrigue Jr. played at LSU from 1986-1989 and was a force on the Tigers' offensive line. He was named an All-SEC Lineman and helped lead the Bayou Bengals to SEC Championships in 1986 and 1988.
? After graduating from LSU, he played for the Raleigh-Durham Skyhawks of the World League of American Football until an injury ended his football career.
After his football career he became known for opening Ruffino's restaurant in both Baton Rouge and Lafayette.
Ruffin tragically passed away on November 24th, 2020 of a heart attack. He was 53.
Rodrigue's display which will be named 'The Tiger Walk Monument' will stand at the top of Tiger Hill on North Stadium Drive. The ceremony will begin at 10:30am.
Saturday's player walk down the hill will be dedicated to the memory of Ruffin Rodrigue.
"Ruffin was the guy who bled purple and gold and grew up wanting to play for LSU." said former LSU center Nacho Albergamo. "His dad played at LSU FROM 1962-64 and he wanted to follow in his dad's footsteps and that's what he did. God Bless him."
"He's missed. No one else could typify being at that Tiger Walk more than him because he was truly a Tiger." Ron Sancho said. "He was a great guy. Not a day goes by that I don't remember him. God Bless him, his wife and his kids."
Once again the Ruffin Rodrigue 'Tiger Walk Monument' will be unveiled on Friday, September 22nd at 10:30am on top of Tiger Hill on North Stadium Drive where the LSU football team unloads off the buses to begin their Tiger Walk to Death Valley on game day.
What a great memorial for a great LSU Tiger...

I remember him well as a Tiger. Never knew he opened Ruffino’s.
What’s the correct pronunciation on his last name? I’ve heard it both ways:
Roh-dreeg
Rah-dreeg

Roh-drig
He ran Dinardos then once Dinardo was let go from LSU they renamed it to Ruffinos and he bought it.

Todd Graves mentioned it on Hanny & Ott’s show a few years ago but didn’t provide a lot of details.

We pronounce it Roh-dreeg down here in South Louisiana but I actually think Ruffin said Rah-dreeg. But he was the only one in the family that said Rah-dreeg.

I wondered if this was an LSU initiated deal or as a result of a family/friends donation?

I thought he didn't like being called Nacho.

Bigger than life guy, sad sad ending....

Dr Joe, Eric, Ruffin were all good dudes. Eric was scary AF of course lol , but Ruffin was as friendly as it gets from college until his death. Any time an old Tiger from my era gets some recognition, I’m happy.

I think maybe both? They were having some type of fundraising dinner

A true Tiger through and through. I'm sure all of you know that he was literally "born to the purple" His father also played for L S U.

Seems like Herbstreit always went to Ruffinos when he was in town; wonder if ESPN will do a feature?

Helluva football player and LSU tiger but I'm sorry.... if you do things that was said that he did, then passing at 53 isn't a tragedy it's irresponsibility.

Right by the tailgate.
We tried using the convenience receptacle on it for the Grambling game but we kept tripping the GCFI.
