As we play Mississippi State this week, we should enjoy some past moments, like when you can actually see the little cartoon birds flying around Zack Smith's head.

That would earn a 75-yard penalty, an ejection, and a lifetime ban from competitive football these days

Then Craig Loston should be in jail for what he did to Smith

Yes, Craig Loston leveled him on a kickoff return.

It’s crazy that not 1 but 2 or the all time greatest hits in LSU football came against the same player…

It’s funny listening to the announcers on that play. They loved it. Same thing happens today and they are appalled.

The bad thing is that guy got knocked the f out 2 years in a row by LSU. He probably hates LSU his entire life.

Football was so much better when this was just considered a big hit

Loved watching big hits like that, but the toll those take on the body is just unsustainable. That's the equivalent of being in a substantial car crash.

With the new alignment, I’m going to miss the SEC’s longest, most lopsided historical matchup. In State’s greatest season, the best season Jackie Sherill’s cattle money could buy, a Gerry DiNardo/Lou Tepper team beat them down 41-6.

Not really. Nothing about the game’s rules today prohibit big hits. That was straight up targeting and I know there are a lot of CTE deniers out there but the fact of the matter is that helmet-to-helmet stuff is very dangerous. Don’t mess with head trauma
