Greg Brooks mentions it around the 2:00 mark… interesting. Even sounds like he may be playing over Zy Alexander

Well that basically tells u that Denver is gone

I haven't seen him play since last year I hope he did alot of improving because he got burnt alot as a safety last year and now he's supposedly moving to corner. WOW. I do trust House and Kelly if they make that move though.

I’m actually getting worried about the corner room. Starting to feel like that’s what’s gonna hold us back from being real contenders. Can’t bring poor secondary play against FSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Bama, etc

Sucks for sage. We should have recruited better at CB the last 2 years.

That's honestly not a good sign if true. I figured Chestnut has a spot locked down. It's hard to believe Sage plays over Alexander. He looked pretty good in spring and has been rolling with 1s since. I'm not sure I take that as a positive on Sage. I know they've been talking him up but I feel like I read that every year and honestly, he hasn't shown anything to be confident in him playing anything outside a nickel/dime role.
He wasn't as bad as a lot of people made it out on this board but he honestly seems limited due to his size. He was always 1 step from making a play last year. 1 step and burnt toast. He's LSU's version of Hatcher. Always in position, never make a play.
I'm honestly surprised Welch hasn't pushed better. These guys need to get it going. They don't want to be the reason this team misses their chance this year.

Recruiting misses are coming back to haunt us

And chestnut and Alexander will be gone next year. Recruiting has been average at CB and DL for the future.

They have multiple big CBs committed right now. One of them is among the best in the country. They got Toviano too but he moved to S which is his natural position most feel.
As for Mack, he's not going to sign with Florida. I'd let that one play out. Not saying he's coming to LSU but he won't sign with Florida.

Unfortunately they can’t play this year. As DBU we should never have this problem right now at CB.

Blame Orgeron not BK on this. He's recruiting fine on DBs right now. He's doing the best he can. They did an amazing job last year considering what they had. This CB room is much more talented than last year so hopefully they put it together like last year's unit too.

Kelly already said we need another year.
Takes more than 1 full recruiting cycle to fix 2 years of bad culture and poor roster management.

No one is blaming Kelly. He is doing great.

Stop making excuses for our CB misses the last 2 years.
What misses?
We've added 20 defensive backs to this team in the last 2 cycles. Due to Orgeron and Raymond's poor roster management, Brian Kelly inherited a team with 1 scholarship cornerback. He has had no choice but to go portal for almost every single corner and those guys have mostly been 1 and done.

If you have to ask you haven’t been paying attention the last 3 recruiting classes.
Not talking about transfers. We haven’t recruited worth a shite at CB in 2020 2021 and 2022.

Transfers are part of recruiting.

Corey Raymond and it goes back a dozen years. Dude was the benefactor and then destroyer of DBU, not the creator

we have recruited like shite in the CB position for classes 2020, 2021, 2022. Stop making excuses and just admit it.
Not counting transfers. We are DBU. We shouldn’t have to rely on one year transfers every year. This is why we are having to move a safety to CB and are so thin at the position.
