Last season he caught a lot of blame for things that were not his fault...he was just at the scene of the crime with someone elses mess up (a couple of Jay Ward coverage busts) and a really good play (Mohameds one handed catch over his far sholder from a dime throw). He still was always close to his assignment and tackled well.

You have more faith than I do, it’s not like he hasn’t gotten a chance. Just hasn’t happened for him

Did he show improvement over the year? I just remember him catching hell on here.

I think he’s closer than people realize.

he’s gotten shot for some plays WRs made while he was in decent coverage. he needs to get his head around and try to make plays on the ball but he’s been where he’s supposed to be.

I don't know man. I feel like he's got all the physical talent in the world, but just kind of lacks elite ball skills and instincts. Maybe I'm wrong, but it has always stood out. For multiple seasons.

Who knows. I hope you're right.

Hopefully it happens for him this year, if not that depth chart is gonna be getting thick in the next year or so. May be a make a break year.

He was recognizing plays faster by late year but unlucky year. Look at this Georgia TD. LINK
Ward had the outside zone but got sucked in too much. Sage knew exactly what was happening but had inside zone...tried to stop it but couldnt. ended up being the first one there so caught the blame.

He's kind of the Rants punching bag. I'm not going to sit here and tell you he's a great player, but he's not as awful as you'd believe if all you did was read this board.

I was listening to a podcast last week, I think it was T-Bob, and he was saying how your biggest improvement as a college athlete comes between years one and years two as a starter, and he had hope for Sage because of that. It may never come to fruition, but it's a fair point.

He's clearly not awful, but he also is nowhere close to where his press clippings would have projected. He has made some costly mistakes.
He's like Emery, without eligibility problems.

If he wasn’t a 5 star recruit he’d be talked about like Karnell Hatcher

I said it all season, the closer to the line of scrimmage the better for him. Blitzer and good tackler.

Needs to stop talking shite to other players and actually play better. Dude mouthed off a WR in the Purdue game who made him burnt toast, dropped the ball, and got hurt.

Hopefully they play him at a safety position. He’s not cutout for NB.
