In their YouTube reaction video to the field of 64, Ethridge said that LSU should pitch Skenes vs Tulane. That take may be the worst take in the history of college baseball. The guy has zero credibility. Aaron Fitt, to his credit disagreed.
Hurd will beat Tulane, so that Skenes can punish the pedophile child molesters.

It makes sense. I've been trying to tell y'all for a week now that Skenes is our 3rd starter now. This guy is just ahead of the curve for realizing that.

He's basing it on he thinks Tulane is more dangerous than anyone is giving credit to because they got hot recently beating a very good team. They'll probably he motivated for this game too for obvious reasons especially the history between the 2.
But no, you definitely do not pitch Skenes. With LSU's lineup it's simply inexcusable to lose to Tulane at any level even with your #3 on the mound. They're a bad team top to bottom. If they earn the win, so be it. Just means LSU isn't who we thought they were and deserve to lose regionals.

Exactly. He apparently doesn’t know his “shite” as well as some of his supporters on this board think.
Tulane is the worst team in the tournament statistically and by record. You simply don’t pitch the best pitcher in baseball against a team that has no ace.

He was overly critical of LSU's finish. He is wrong to burn Skenes against Tulane, but he is very smart when it comes to baseball.

Sure. But LSU isnt trying to win just 1 game. Even if you lose the opener with your 2 or 3, you still have the best pitcher in the nation to keep you in the tournament.

I'm not saying he's right but I can see why he thinks that. I agree, they haven't shown enough to be worried. They were playing for their postseason lives which definitely played into it too.
If LSU doesn't take this game seriously and lets Tulane sneak one on them, then that's on LSU. The only way this game is going to be lost is if LSU shoots themselves in the foot.

You also have Skenes available if you go in the losers bracket and then make it even the series up for the final game. He would be available in that final game if you pitched him against Tulane.
