It's almost like they don't have their eye on Omaha. Don't they realize this tournament is meaningless like LSU does?

Florida and Arkansas are playing better ball than us right now. That’s ok. Baseball is a weird game. Let’s hope the Tigers turn it on next weekend.

Sully is notorious for not caring about this tournament. They routinely exit early.

Arkansas pitched two starters against us yesterday and DVH basically said they are just here to get work and stay healthy yesterday in the postgame. They’re not “playing to win,” but they’ll take it if they can.

LSU was trying their best to win that’s the problem. Arkansas and Florida are just actually good teams.

Only teams that can’t win the SECT don’t care about the SECT.

Arkansas pulled their ace after 3.2 innings and only beat LSU because of a fluke catcher's interference.

If this were a regional game, Floyd pitches the 6th and maybe longer, and then it's Guidry to finish.

Arkansas figures if you can't win in Omaha you can always have Hoover.

Florida and Arkansas haven’t done anything differently strategy wise than LSU. They just made winning plays when the opportunity arose. LSU didn’t.

I’m guessing the team that’s won more than everyone else probably does. But, why do fans care about it so much. It has no advantage in preparing for the regional and sometimes is better to rest and prepare at home.

It should be a single elimination at most.

Good point.According to the brilliant experts here it was really a win since we lost. We can just snap our fingers next weekend and return to early April play.

I mean quite a few SEC teams have done that over the years.

In fact, precedent says it's better to get out of Hoover as quick as possible if you want to win in Omaha.

That doesn’t fit their narrative.

Yes, putting Skenes and Floyd on pitch counts when the bullpen is unreliable is trying their best. Sitting their most reliable hitter in the second half of the season is trying their best. Playing Jones and Kling when they both have not hit well for the last month is trying their best. Giving an audition to Dutton for the last spot in the postseason bullpen is trying their best.

The catcher’s interference was great clutch playing on Arkansas’ part.

LSU won the SEC Tournament and made it to Omaha in 2000, 2008, 2009, 2013 and 2017. Vandy won both in 2019.

But let's rejoice with loss. I'm sure as mediocre as we have played in May will automatically turn into greatness next weekend.
