How he kept his eyes on the ball switching sides and slipping I’ll never know. Dude is just an unbelievable athlete

I was just thinking that. Just insane eye control on the ball.

I thought no way he was going to catch that once he slipped.

He made it a lot harder slipping and falling but it was an amazing catch.

When I played college ball, We would work on how to adjust to balls if you open stepped in the wrong direction and if the ball was over the other shoulder. What he should have done is in one step turn his head around over his left shoulder and locate the ball to catch. Opening up to adjust to that ball results in what happened. We are just lucky Trey is a great athlete no matter where he plays and was still able to catch the ball. Trey Morgan will be on the highlights because of it but it was all fundamentally wrong. He probably rarely practices in the outfield and I’d be curious to know if they do a similar defensive adjustment drill like I did in college.

That was a great catch.

The second catch he made was a better catch. He got a good jump and tracked it. He didn’t understand the hitter at the plate being lefty, made a bad read and got a bad jump. It was a good catch for screwing up.
