Will be an architect for the PMAC.

No one cares about softball beyond a winning season.

Build a brand but sobatage the brand in other selective areas... I do not buy it. Softball is a popular sport and needs to be treated with my respect and resources devoted to a better brand. We want to be known as baseball's finest then that should extend to the sport of softball.

Gotta be a winner to be viable. That applies to all LSU sports programs. Portal and NIL changes everything. Softball is the most popular sport among females, therefore tons of TV exposure. You suck and nobody watches.

You serious Clark? We just won a natty in the most popular female college sport with the entire tournament televised. I don’t even know how I’d go about watching college softball without having ESPN11.

I disagree. If you're an Alum, you want NONE of the LSU athletic teams to be mediocre. (Softball)

Those that only care about FB, BB and BB have most likely never stepped foot in an LSU classroom. (Bama Gump types, aka as Pump Lumps/LSU Gumps)

Keep all LSU Athletics moving onwards and upwards away from the Meds.

Hopefully this is Woodward's next "Big Bucks-Big Hire."

Softball gets great turnout nationally. LSU has actually had a very strong following for softball for years but things have gotten stale to the point where a bit of the passion has been lost recently.

Facilities wise, LSU is easily top 3 in the country with the indoor facility they recently built, tiger park and other amenities

I wonder if her buyout and 2 mil a year would get her to come here

She makes $1.6M now, which is almost $1M more than anyone else. Woodward paid Mulkey to bring in 10,000+ crowds in the PMAC and earn money participating in the NCAA tournament that had 9 million viewers for the final. Tiger Park only holds around 2,300 and the WCWS final only drew 1.7M viewers. It makes no sense to pay $2M to the softball coach. The potential revenue won’t support it.

Does he do that for just softball or for all 12 teams sponsored by LSU that lose money?

Don't you think they are doing that already?

They aren’t paying the head coaches of all 12 sports $2M each, no. They support those programs with football money, but that money isn’t unlimited.
