I think Scott firing WW to save the football program is a bunch of BS.

Pat Forde would make a great sidekick to the very stable Brent Musburger

Fat Woodward wanted to reset the program. He wanted his guy… McSleepy

Scott will look like a bigger clown in two years when WW puts a beating on this crappy team, which will still be crap by then.

It always seemed like something that got repeated here so much it became a irrefutable fact.

The trouble is we really don't know what was discussed between Scott and the NCAA. I don't think dragging in the footbal program just came out the blue.

It was the assistants that lost their jobs or did jail time because the other head coaches weren’t stupid enough to do the dirty work themselves. None of them were caught on tape and none of them made payments using their wives’ bank accounts.

I think McNeese sees this as a low risk high reward situation.
Do you think his contract has any guarantees is he has a show cause penalty?
What’s McNeese got to lose?
I think WW is a better coach than McNeese. He is just a huge gamble and no one else is willing to pay him without the all clear.

Probably the NCAA working on the LSU Athletics file which included football and basketball.

I never wanted WW fired.

There was no possible way WW could have remained the head coach at LSU.

This was just shitty luck, it literally had nothing to do with him.
I GUARANTEE other head coaches say vague things like ‘strong arse offer’ over telephones.

Including WW. These are allegations. You know what that word means, right?

My guess they were leveraging the football program (whether they had anything or not) to see if they could get Scott to cave.

The hire didn't make a ton of sense, really for anyone involved, until I realized who is McNeese's AD, Heath Schroyer. He and Wade are tight. At one point early in his LSU tenure Wade was looking to hire Schroyer as an assistant, and I think Wade had an assist in getting Shroyer hired as McNeese's head coach.
I don't think the hire means Wade is in the clear with the IARP investigation. I think it's more of a matter of a friend (Schroyer) being willing to take a risk nothing comes of the investigation that other ADs weren't quite willing to take. I suspect there is some language in the contract that allows McNeese to easily get out of the contract if Wade is hit with sanctions. If you are McNeese it is probably worth a roll of the dice. Either Wade is sanctioned and you have to let him go with little no penalty, or he's not and McNeese gets a proven coach they otherwise could have never gotten.
