But some of you low hanging fruit only want to see the shiny things.

This is not the #1 offense in the country.

Its the #1 TEAM in the country because there are multiple phases to the game.

Offense was not good tonight but the pitching was lights out. That's what good ball teams do. They find ways to win when they aren't clicking on all cylinders.

This team has been away from The Box for almost a week now and the pitching staff just walked into another blue blood's house and threw up a goose-egg.

THATS BASEBALL

you clowns

Maybe not but we clearly have a great lineup.

Defense was absolutely atrocious last year and has ramped up massively. This team will score, need to keep playing solid fundamental defense.

Exactly. Bats are going to come. Usually the last to come around. I’m more excited that we are pitching better and playing better defense than last year

Great to see three big time arms on a Tuesday too. You can’t win if you can’t score

This Texas game is meant to prepare us for TN specifically

That was a Friday night feel and atmosphere. Thatcher looked much better. Nate was solid. Helluva plays by JT and nippolt

shite. That felt like a super regional. I haven’t had that much fun watching a midweek game in a long arse time.

And the fact that it was Texas just added a little extra spice to the gumbo.

oh how true! And if memory serves our hitting generally didn’t start coming around until Mid season with the exception of 97

Defense was stellar other than Morgan’s error at first.

Likely not the number one offense in the country but as more guys mature and the season goes along I expect/hope we’ll have a little more discipline at the plate. Against iowa we swung at a bunch of balls. Tonight we did the same thing, not a ton, but too often. If we can start laying off a few more pitches that are out of the zone we will absolutely frustrate teams. We already usually have good at bats, but I believe that will improve as well overall.
We are still going to run into some studs that will set up some low scoring, tight ballgames. Should be fun

Except for those 23 LHP for directional teams who threw 7 innings of 88 mph shutout ball to LSU in midweek games.

Then it’s bitching that the pitching sucks, you honestly can’t win.

Yeah, it's frustrating to see so many strike outs but defense and pitching stepped up big time and we got the big hit when it mattered

“Bad at Bats” is one of the only things right now that someone looking to complain about something could possibly use.

This team is STOUT!!

Can't bunt though. 1st and 2nd, zero outs, and you can't even get a bunt in play. They have yet to successfully execute a sac bunt this year.
