Neal is your everyday catcher

I don’t care if it’s after one at bat. The kid looks different for a freshman

He's looked good behind the plate too.

It sure was different to see a catcher flashing some power at the plate that's for sure.

Whenever they showed him next to Skeens, he looked more like 5'6 than 5'10. I had to look to see how tall he was.

Would like to see him get the throw back to the mound a little quicker. Thrown a couple of lollipops back but he’s turned a couple of balls outside into strikes.

He did an awesome job framing pitches and pulling a few of those 97 98 mph fastballs into the strike zone. He got Skenes a few calls.

Let’s try this just one more time. No catcher on this team (barring multiple injuries) will catch “every day.” It would be stupid. As just about everyone has said, if Neal is good enough defensively, he will start 2 out of 3 on weekends.

Nice revisionist history. You got torched for maliciously bashing Milazzo.

shite man, millazo was the exception, not the rule.
Our catchers last year after millazo got hurt were travinski and McManus. They both had raw power.
Before that , think back to papierski and Saul Garza
We’ve had power at catcher most years besides the one year that millazo started the most games which was the year before last

This isn’t your kids’ fricking travel ball team. The criteria for the catcher throwing the ball back to the pitcher is as follows:
1. Don’t make your pitcher work to catch it
2. See rule #1

Def put the fat part of the bat on the ball. Good contact guy. Looked good behind the dish too.

Was he able to catch the pitches of Skenes & Little?
Posted on 2/17/23 at 10:28 pm to Lester Earl
Yeah it’s pretty evident why he’s the staring catcher
