Rashada, who flipped from Miami to Florida back in November (presumably because of the NIL deal), was set to be paid $13 million to sign with Florida according to Thompson’s report.

Thompson also noted that a source told him the situation between Rashada and Florida is “beyond repair”.

Is 13 million what it takes for a good qb at lsu?

Man I hate what college football is becoming.

It will be like this until universities can directly pay players and not have to have work around like NIL and put a cap on it

It's not even those type guys. I personally know of a two year starter at LB for a G5 school who was offered $50k cash to transfer to good program in the American Conference.

I get the top tier guys get all the attention but as soon as players enter the portal it's all about the money.

Boy you're good at buying bullshite huh? You'd never make it negotiating with agents.

Rashada's rumors have been consistently going up from 9 million all the way to 13 million now being committed to Miami to Florida. The kid is a headcase and all he's trying to do is get more money. If you actually believe any university is paying a recruit like him 13 million to come play for them then you're beyond stupid.

He's not even a generational talent and even for someone like that it's ridiculous for any university to pay it. Not a single HS recruit is sniffing anything remotely close to that. Those are rumors planted to get him more money for gullible dumbasses like you.

its pretty simple, dont sign contracts you dont plan on honoring

if you were offered a position in a company and you showed up and they said they could no longer pay you whats in your contract...would you stay???

whats the difference?

Florida's issue is boosters are backing out on supporting Sunbelt Billy. They're pretty divided right now after his first season. He's not getting the NIL backing that was promised so now it's going to impact recruits like Rashad.

If any of you actually think he's getting 13 million or was even promised anything close to that you're pretty naive. Step back and evaluate why this is not true. Observe it carefully and you'll realize how ridiculous the claim is especially if you followed this dude's recruitment.

I think Florida's issue is some of their boosters have made their mind up and want him out already so they're not going to financially back the program until he's gone. Dude is being unfairly ripped his first season there but that's how things go.

Colleges need to hire special attorneys to work these cases. Schools need to come to an agreement want will not be tolerated.

These are in essence paid professional players and should be treated as such. This is inexcusable and players have to be held accountable. It needs to be written into their contract especially when we are talking that much much money.

If it takes 13 million or more to sign a good QB they should just end the football program now. This is going to get beyond sustainable for almost anyone and the ones who are keeping up will just look pathetic honestly.

It’s becoming about the money and there’s not much we can do about that

Gordon MCKernan isn’t going to be able to foot the bill for what will be required to keep up with what other teams in large markets will be able to offer ie miami, Dallas, houston, Seattle, Los Angeles, and lots of others.

We are a small market. Not much money here

I want whatever drugs are you taking if you think any school, ESPECIALLY the University of Florida, is offering out $13 million to an unproven high school commitment.

I think Tennessee Vols new QB who they signed is getting 8 million. It’s pretty crazy out there. His name is Nico Iameava.

NIL money should not be discussed until a kid is signed, enrolled and in class. should be major penalties if a university does offer money to come.

Univesities can boast of their NIL program, and their reputations will become known as well.

of course, it will never happen. it will fester and grow until CFB is destroyed. it was very bad timing to have NIL coincide with a wide open transfer portal.

paying $13mil for an unproven college prospect coming to the NFL is a risky proposition, paying that for a hs student coming to college is straight up stupidity

NIL is not going to be capped. Payments directly to players can be capped but NIL is an agreement between the player and a private citizen or company. That should never be restricted in a capitalist country. And as such will probably always have some place in the college football world going forward.
