JD will sling the ball vs Purdue

I’m predicting a game from Jayden daniels with more passing yards than most if not all of the games this season. A game where the fan that does not bother looking at statistics (passing yards) will think “Damn, JD has really improved his passing performance”
We all know he has the talent to sling the ball. It’s his mentality and his confidence holding him back. Perhaps most importantly his reliance in his damn good ability to run the ball is preventing him from making those passes.
Obviously a lot of fans are currently skeptical about him and his passing ability, in addition to the pressure from the coaches and team to improve his passing. Jayden daniels need to prove to himself, the coaches, and the team that’s he has the skills necessary to bring us a natty. That is why we will see him sling the ball in his last game of this season.
I know there’s a lot of JD skeptics in tiger rant so go ahead and downvote away if your in that group.

What caused us to lose our 4 games in 2022 was NOT JD5. It was terrible special teams poor running game, and spotty defense.

Not anti-Jayden but when I read posts like the OP you have to ask why did he have to wait to game 14 to do this?

We didn’t score a TD in the first half vs. FSU. JD struggled the entire first half and then coughed it up vs. aTm.
I’ll agree that Tenn and UGA were probably lost causes regardless of the quarterback.

Against A&M, we had 4 possessions in the first half. 4. A&M held the ball and ran it down our throat.
You’re right, the defense did struggle in the first half. That continued on into the second.

Yes we did struggle to keep A&M's offense off the field but our offense didn't help a lot by sustaining some drives.
JD gives you a chance to win some games just with his athleticism but when you have a QB that struggles with going thru progressions or throwing receivers open its tough to have an offensive rhythm. With the athlete's we have at wideouts the fanbase wants more utilization and continuity--I'm sure the coaching staff does to.
We need to be a pass first then run off the passing game team at least until we have a stud RB which has been awhile. Clyde was great out the backfield for passing game and a good runner but really haven't had the type of runner who could move the chains steady since LF and Guice.

How many games was JD completely bailed out by the defense?

Something is missing in our passing game and it hasn't been fixed. I know there was a brief streak midseason but overall it was pretty ineffective.

We were 6th in the SEC in total yards on offense and total yards against on defense. Fact is we need to be better at both to play for championships.

He didn’t. Daniels had some great games in the second half of the season. His performance against Bama, Florida and Ole Miss was excellent. He used his legs, threw productively and limited turnovers. That’s championship football.
Daniels is never going to be a guy, like Bryce Young, who almost never runs. He’s too good on the hoof.

TWO dropped passes cost us a TD and a key 1st down on the other side of midfield in the 1st quarter. Those were not JD's fault. Our DEF, and lack of DEF adjustments by the staff & players, were atrocious vs TAM and cost us that game.

He was the cause for some wins, the cause for some losses. Other parts of the team didn't help at times, either. Dude is inconsistent, let's say. So was the team.

Will this be a true turning point or a Les versus TTU type of game?

That's great and all, but what about the other 10 games? You can't play well half the time and then average/bad the other half of the time and expect to win a championship.
Also to the OP, he's been under pressure to prove he can pass the ball all year, so I'm not sure what you think changed to where he is suddenly going to be throwing the ball all over the field.

History shows that when teams stop JD’s ability to run then the opposition has a very good chance of winning the game. Much like A&M and Georgia did. Those are the types of games that are played in the championship playoff rounds. If you don’t have a QB that can make plays with his arm, then winning it all is a pipe dream!

In three of our four losses, JD averaged less than ten yards/completion.
We probably weren't going to beat UT or UGA, but he wasn't getting us into the end zone either to even have a chance.
Having a completion percentage near 70 percent is worthless if you can't translate that to points. He throws short of the sticks way too often.

The fact that we have these conversations says everything.
He’s been inconsistent. He’s 4 years into college we shouldn’t have to guess if he’s going to feel comfortable throwing or is it more of the same running after his first receiver is covered.
We saw him throw the football in a few games, then he reverts back to the same guy in other games.
It has to be mental. He has the talent.
