Replay Review of Tipped Pass

The replays that were shown on tv of the tipped pass were inconclusive imo because when they showed it frame by frame the still images become so blurry. You can’t really make out the finger bending when the ball is tipped. That is why the call was upheld.
However, just before it went to review, espn played a slowed down replay of the review. It was much slower but not frame by frame. You can see the middle finger of 92 bend backward. This shot was never used in the replay by the officials.
It’s hard to believe in todays world we can’t figure this out live. Glad it didn’t cost us.

In their words, you have to have conclusive evidence to overturn a call and I'm pretty sure they went by the fact that the ball didn't change trajectory or spin at all, not a blurry image of a finger that may or may not have bent backwards.
There was no chance they would overturn that.

After the tip I noticed a slight change in rotation and a slight wobble. Very slight.

We won with everything g that happened so I didn’t see anything with his finger moving…
Had we lost, it would have be a compound fracture in his finger the ball hit so hard and I would be screaming about cheating
Luckily we don’t have to worry about any of that.

I obviously wanted the call overturned, but I just couldn’t see enough there to provide conclusive proof. Turned out great in the end, but as a general matter, screw Bama, their refs, and their league office in BHam.

You can see from the front view in slow mo just not from the side.

For any replay review if you have to spend that much time trying to decide if a play should stand or not then by definition it’s inconclusive

A tip is a tip is a tip is a tip.

I definitely saw a bent finger tips in the first replay they did - then was never able go make it out again in all the succeeding replays.

There is one way...if 92 had a Crimson jersey on, that PI gets overturned.

It helped us win I think. Coach said enough of this and went for the win.
Two plays and game over.

The Jumbotron replays in the stadium were much better and clearly showed the tip frame by frame. We couldn’t believe the call. After watching the TV broadcast on Sunday, I agree, what they showed on TV wasn’t as clear. But I also noted that on the TV broadcast, when they told Kelly the call, he was pointing up at the Jumbotrons in the stadium that were still showing the tip clear as day.

92 wouldn’t have made such a fuss had he not tipped it . He knows his tiger bent backwards

Fact: It was tipped. An announcer saw it. And we can see video evidence.
Question: Why didn’t the ref see the conclusive view that the announcer saw? And if he did, why didn’t he make the correct call.
LSU should have won 30-27.

the ball didn't change trajectory or spin at all,
Remember back in the Les Miles, prior to 2011, we had a game at Tennessee.
The Vol punt returner tried to get out of the way of a punt. The ball hit his hand and LSU had a scoop and score.
On replay, you could CLEARLY see the ball change direction and rotation. The replay booth overturned it despite undeniable video evidence.
I have no idea what those idiots see half the time.

I haven’t seen anyone else mention this but from where I was sitting, the ball appeared to change trajectory by at least two feet to the left. It was 100% tipped. Not sure how it’s possible to not see that on tv but that’s what I saw in person.

The rules expert or whatever he was that they brought in said it would be overturned because he saw the tip clear as day.
They all seemed baffled when it was uoheld

yes...We should continue talking about this for the rest of the week.

There is no may or may not about it. It bent backwards
