Quitting is not innate. It is learned/acquired. Adapt, adjust and overcome when life gets tough. Life isn’t a transfer portal. The next thing isn’t always better. Don’t let this become a “give up” generation. Persevere and FINISH, you’ll never regret it.???? #WordsofChizdom

Too late. I know several kids just out of college who quit good jobs bc they weren’t super happy…wanted to be manager type stuff. Today’s generation has no problem going back to live with mom and dad after they don’t their way. I would have never even considered such a path.

Both stayed for QB competitions, graduated, and then transferred out to get playing time. They didn’t run away from having to compete for a spot.

The only reason people know who you are, Gene, is because of a transfer.

Their situations were different they were Juniors and Seniors that weren't going to start. I think he is more talking about Freshmen and Starters transfering for no apparent reason. How often does the "I'm going to do the best for me" bs actually end up being better for them. The grass isn't always greener.

Agree - two sides to this: giving up and running away or running toward…

I agree with the sentiment, but it's already a defining characteristic of this generation.

If they are going to make it an option for the players, getting pissed at them for taking advantage of it seems like a raw deal.

I thought they were graduate transfers. I feel a graduate transfer is different. In the past a player wanting to transfer had to sit for a year.

This is one reason of hope with CBK. He will build a winning program that has players wanting to stay.

We have seen utter failure with O to get the players committed to the program. If CBK can change the culture, we will be just fine.

Terrible examples to make your point. Both of those guys were upperclassmen that stuck it out way longer than any of these flakes these days.

People still don’t know the difference between a Grad Transfer and someone quitting their after Freshman season and entering transfer portal

So it's OK to transfer if you want to, but not if you want to. Cool.

No. It’s ok to transfer after you EQ run a diploma and graduate. It’s not ok to transfer mid season or as an underclass man.

Plus both of those guys graduated from their first schools. As much as I love Burrow, Hurts may be the worst example that guy could have come up with. He stayed an entire extra year after it was apparent he would not be the starter. Only to then come in at halftime to win them the SEC title.

Didnt Cam get kicked out of florida for the laptop incident, then he went the juco route... this is not the same as a freshman WR being upset that he didnt get to start all year so he transfers and is immediately eligible. Cam still had to pay dues.
