Drunkenstein, I bet you didn't mind the A&M game when it was a guaranteed win! A&M smacked that a$$ last year and finally stood up to the stuck up Longhorns. They've won one championship in the last 42 yrs, but the way they act you'd think they were a freakin dynasty.

Anybody else not getting the math here?
It was played well before 1915. I believe its the third or fourth longest rivalry in all of college football.

The Texas-Texas A&M rivalry dates back to 1894. It is the longest-running rivalry for both teams. It ranks as the third most-played rivalry in Division I-A college football, and the most-played intra-state rivalry. The two teams have played each other every year since 1894 with the exception of six seasons [1895 (when the Aggies did not field a team), 1896, 1897, 1912, 1913, and 1914]. During some seasons, the Aggies and Longhorns played each other twice.

When your wife cheats on you and files for divorce you don't invite her back into your home for Thanksgiving dinner. Let it go aggy, you made your bed now you'll have to live with it.
There is ABSOLUTELY no reason to give aggy another game in the state of Texas and a lot of reasons not to.

can you at least not copy verbatim the words a radio show host used just 4 hours ago? Find an original analogy and go with that next time.

Yeah, he is right. The SEC has a horrible time trying to schedule OOC rivalries each year.
The fact that 4/6 of the SEC-E do it annually is a damn miracle.

How about if I show you a quote where I used the same analogy a month ago...

Man, Texas fans sure are a bunch of crybabies. Act like a friggin man, you candyass. Play Aggie because they are your rival, and the mere fact you're bitching so loudly about A&M leaving your conference proves that they are. Shut your whiny pieholes and play them on Thanksgiving. You're only the two biggest schools in Texas. Cross-conference instate rivalry games is what Thanksgiving is for.

Funny thing is that if they were to beat us now and then it could be a recruiting advantage they will no longer have against a team in a real conference. The bevo-9 no longer counts. It will just be a hybrid version of the old Big 8 and SWC with two strong teams with an occasional upstart.

This is completely devoid of logic. Do you actually think A&M is somehow forced to play an OOC game in a different state after they move to the SEC?? They can play as many games in the state of Texas as they want and there's absolutely nothing Texas can do about it.

Scheduling won't come easy. Team are going to want big paydays because they know Not many teams want to play Texas right now. Tulane wants to play and homer and homer with you guys!

Great, bring in as many as they want they can play Baylor and Houston if they want in-state rivalries. They wanted out of the conference, there's no reason to reward that behavior.
I'm happy for aggy, they're getting what they want. They're looking out for themselves, that's great. But to expect Texas to now accommodate them after they've left is dumb, it's not in our best interest.

What you typed makes NO sense in relation to ANY TX vs. TA&M sporting event.
HOW on earth does EITHER team LOSE money on this rivalry game ????
THINK before you post next time !!

Atari you and the rest of the tea-sips are simply butt-hurt because your conference teams have finally had ENOUGH of your bevo b.s. just admit it already !
You are NOT a dominant program whom all others must bow down to...this will very soon become all too painfully obvious to you stuck up clowns...the b12-3 {for now} and most of the rest of the sports nation, is fed up with your crap !!!

This folks, is the kind of dumbassery we have dealt with forever.
We read that, and we think, gee that really makes no sense and is actually quite retarded.
They read it, and they are like, man I am really killing it.
You can't fix that kind of delusion. They are literally capable of spinning anything, except this time everyone sees the bullshite.
Atari, your pathetic home schedule has been posted many times on this thread. Do you really think we need the game more than you when we will be playing marquee games (IN Texas too) almost every Saturday?

I'm glad my alma mater is looking out for themselves. You don't get to the top by caring about anyone's feelings. As to others bowing down, I don't want or expect them to. They should be looking out for themselves.
OU has made more TV money than any other Big12 school in the last 5 years. Have you heard Texas cry about it? No they're doing what they can to improve their standing.
Kansas sells their tier 3 rights to basketball games for like $9 million/year and that's alright with everyone, but when Texas sells their football rights for $15million/year that makes them evil and to be reviled right?
When aggy voted for unequal revenue sharing, they were looking out for the little guy right? When Nebraska wanted unequal revenue sharing, they were just looking out for themselves. Texas votes for unequal revenue sharing and THEY are the bad guy right?
When Nebraska looked into starting their own network that was growing their brand right? Kansas State is starting their own "network" online and that has been mentioned what one or two times. Why is Texas the bad guy for starting a network? Because it's ESPN?
Revenue sharing is a function of TV appearances and bowl game revenue. Each school has control over that by who they schedule, if they schedule interesting non-conference games, TV appearances go up. Too many of the schools want to skate by on lesser OOC games then expect an equal share of the pie, that doesn't make sense financially. Texas voted for unequal distribution, but so did a majority of the Big 12 schools. This is not the dealbreaker vote for Texas. Texas is being blamed because it gets more from the contract than anybody, and so serves as a convenient scapegoat, not because it is driving the unequal distribution.

UT is running and trying to find another conference to destroy while their program is on the decline. Guaranteed UT couldn't beat 3/4 of the SEC right now.
