Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds doesn’t have much hope for continuing his school’s historic rivalry with Texas A&M. Express-News UT beat writer Mike Finger tweeted that Dodds said it would be difficult to extend the series if Texas A&M follows through with its threat to move to the Southeastern Conference. “I think it will be hard to schedule that game,” Dodds said. The Longhorns hold a 75-37-5 edge in the series, which has been played every year since 1915.

Both sides have had enough of each other. Hopefully this game never happens again in the regular season in my lifetime.

horsehit, only you and a few teasips want it to end.

I know zero Aggies that want series to end. Again we see the Orange brotherhood doesn't like it when someone objects to being bossed around.

I never thought I'd see the day where Texas had it's ego bruised so badly.

UT is scared and also upset they didn't get their way - much harder for A&M in a 12 team league to schedule than UT in a 9 team league. Maybe OU can grow some balls like A&M's set.

Yeah, because its a good thing when a series going back to 1894 stops.

Watching Texas when they don't get their way is reminding me of a drunk, abusive husband in the slammer and threatening to beat the shite out of anyone within ear shot.

They want to take the ball and go home. The aggies are just a bunch of meanies.

I thought TU would be above elementary school histrionics, but apparently they're not.

It reminds me more of a 1st grader getting mad because no one shows up to their birthday party.

STOP IT! If you continue to be sarcastic, maybe Bama won't play you either!

Its pretty incredible.

Also, Dr. D is in the minority. Most sips do NOT want it to end, message board fans be damned.

Honestly it in A&M's best interest since we will now be playing in the toughest conference in all of CFB, but we aren't a bunch of pussies either.

I'd guess you are hugely in the minority. Yeah, let's cancel a rivalry since 1915 because you've had enough of each other. If anything all of this should add to the rivalry not make you want to quit. Lots of schools play non-conference rivals, this makes Texas look bad.

This will be the second time the sips have announced an end to the series. This interruption will probably last just slightly longer than the previous one. Amazing how in 100 years the playbook in Austin never changes.
