Fine with me. Flip UGA to north and take Vandy (it's weird, but alright). Keep AU as Bama's permanent cross division rival.

Honestly, the better solution is to redraw divisions and ignore geography. Competitive balance and historical rivalries can be maintained and the only negative is travel issues with TAMU and Mizzou. However, if travel was such a concern, then why expand so far away from the conferences geographical center?

Then I don't see how this guy could be aware of the SEC presidents. I'm going to listen to what a wise man once told me.

This is 100% correct.

That'd go over like a turd in a punch bowl.

Why not? Bama could stay in the West and schedule both Tenn and Auburn from the East permanently.

I'm sure never playing Vandy or Kentucky or South Carolina would be fine with Bama because they could maintain the only games that are important to them... their RIVALRIES.

Rivalries are sacred, so we've been told. Oh, except if you're Auburn... then you have to GIVE UP your rivalries for the good of the conference.

So this is a rivalry: Overall, Alabama leads the series with an official 47–38–7 record. (Bama vs TN)

But this isn't: Auburn holds the advantage in the overall win-loss-tie record in the rivalry series, 42–38–2. (Auburn vs Fla)

Yeah.... big difference.....

I think you would have to flip AU and Vandy or UGA and Vandy to try to balance it.

Then you still have issues with cross divisional matchups.

I think I had it this way last week:
North - Mizzou, Arky, Ole Miss, Bama, Vandy, KY, UT
South - TAMU, LSU, MSU, AU, UGA, UF, USCe

Play 9 SEC games 6 in division, 1 perm cross division, 2 rotating cross divisions.

Permanent matchups: Bama/Auburn; Ole Miss/MSU; UT/UGA; Arky/LSU; Mizzou/ATM; then either UF or USCe / either Vandy or UK.

By doing this you preserve most, if not all of the traditional as well as post 1992 rivalries. The only annual game you really lose is Tennessee/Florida.

Bottom line: Alabama and Tennessee will never vote for any expansion or division move that kills the Bama/UT rivalry. And Slive will never go forward with a proposal that is strongly opposed by Bama and UT. Deal with it.

I guess it's best for the ENTIRE CONFERENCE.

I was hoping someone at UA would stop all this expansion bullshite. Glad they are listening to our fans.

Here's an idea.

Alabama and UT start their own 2 team conference. They play each other 8 times a year in order to make sure their history and rivalry is retained and maximized.

Alabama wins the conference every year, which their fans will love.

Instead of calling it the "Third Saturday in October" or whatever they call it, it can be renamed the "Every Saturday in the Season" game.

I agree 100%... Here is ONE option:

Really change it up...(Example ONLY) Is UK vs. UT a rivalry worth keeping? In this example, UT would lose Florida, but pick up LSU. This gives each division a 7 state footprint. Might also help us later to bring in an FSU,Clemson, etc. if their are not in the same division. This is what the Big10 did to save rivalries and increase value.

Division A:
Alabama (Auburn)
UT (UGA)
LSU (Florida)
TAMU (USCe)
Missouri (Arkie)
Ole Miss (MSU)
Kentucky (Vandy)

Division B:
Auburn (BAMA)
Georgia (UT)
Florida (LSU)
USCe (TAMU)
Arkie (Missouri)
MSU (Ole Miss)
Vandy (UK)

i look at at BAMA being the better rival for us but we could never take them from AU so the 2 perm and 1 rot would most likely be the best option

Reading this thread, it's funny to see Auburn fans talking about sacrifice and how since they sacrificed games 20 years go, UT and Bama should, too.

They gave up their 3rd and 4th biggest rivals, so now people expect Tennessee (and some Bama fans) to give up their biggest rival?

This is one Auburn fan that does NOT want UT to give up Bama... are you willing to give up UGA or UF?
