Look some of y'all act like he hasn't coached in 35 years. Dude knows how to coach defense, is he the best fit I dunno but sounds like we gonna find out possibly. But the disrespect you put on his name and the disrespect you show by not trusting CEO and his decision to hire this man if he wants to, just simply amazes me. Rant over

I have never said I'm all on board with Pellini, just pointing out the irrational thinking of some these comments

I hadn't realized that the connection between O and Pelini abstractly, and on the periphery, went back as far as when Carroll and Bo coached together at the Patriots way back when.

Pelini has a strong resume for sure and he is definitely accomplished. He actually had Nebraska, of all schools, remotely relevant when both before and after him they were a burning sack of dog shite on top of a dumpster fire.

...my skepticism comes from what Pelini has done lately...

It's not a splash hire or a sure fire hire by any means and I don't care how many downvotes I get. I just feel like we can do better.

People would be flipping their shite (in a good way) if we had hired muschamp as a DC. Pelini is no different and in fact arguably more accomplished as a HC.

Great point. Not sold on Bo, but not against it.

Pelini is a safe pick & would be fine with the level of talent LSU attracts

I see what you did there, so I'll ask....

Who would be the choice to attract even more talent?

O has earned my respect and if he chooses Pelini (Only one L) I’ll support him. I don’t like the character issues that Pelini would bring and he left a dumpster fire at Nebraska and it was his defense that was the biggest issue. I recognize that he wasn’t the DC but he hired the DCs.

I wouldn’t call him a risk, but our fanbase is the only one in the SEC that would see Pelini as a good DC hire today. We see him the way we see him because of what he did here 13 years ago, not because of anything he’s done lately. Not bad, but I think this program could do better coming off a title.
