Of those two....Jim or and it's not close.
Without Moorehead Franklin is 36-35 in his career in conference. Soon to be 36-36 after this weekend.
I also don't want a pussy that trys to fight fans after a loss and then hides from fans.

I really like Franklin as a leader and the face of a program, but I’m not sure he’s NC coach at LSU or the SEC. His offenses are just too bland to survive the gauntlet. I think he would kill it at USC, though. When those 2 jobs have been compared, recruiting comes up and it’s mentioned that it’s easier to recruit LSU now, but if you can get USC rolling, it could become a recruiting monster.
We saw it with Carroll—he was getting everybody he wanted up and down the West Coast and could cherry pick a few more from just about everywhere else in the country. I think Franklin has the potential to make USC sexy again and get it rolling like that if the university commits to football again and gives him the money he’ll need for assistants, upgrades, whatever, and can win early and build up some quick momentum. He’s going to recruit wherever he goes, but he has a higher ceiling at USC, I think.
Jimbo, on the other hand, has a ton of established relationships with high schools not just in Louisiana, but all over LSU’s recruiting footprint. And he’s that nice, southern, folksy demeanor that plays veery well in the south. So I think he’d hit the ground running at LSU and start dominating recruiting. We already recruit great, but with the right staff, he could quickly narrow the gap between Bama/Georgia and us. So I’d take Jimbo over Franklin. However, his inability to develop QBs at A&M is really concerning. He had Kellen Mond for 15 years, and he was pretty much the same dude when he left as he was when he got there. I know King got hurt, but was he killing it before? Their starter now is nothing special. Neither is their offense in general. I’m not saying the game has totally passed Jimbo by, but he’d have been a much better option here 10 years ago. He’s just not innovative enough for today’s game. He’d win here for sure, because he’d recruit great players and hire great coaches, but I don’t think he’d do much better than Miles and Orgeron did—being consistently good, around 9-3/10-2 annually, with a special group every 4-5 years or so that that goes 11-1/12-0 and wins the SEC and gets into the playoffs.
Dear Lord, why in the world did I just write so much about these 2 guys?
tl;dr answer—Jimbo probably, wouldn’t hate either, but they’d both be pretty “meh”

That's exactly the way I feel about Jimbo, but you're write-up actually got me a little excited about him TBH. HIs offense and QB development (or lack thereof) are his biggest weaknesses. Imagine if he handed off OC and play calling duties to someone more innovative, or if he hired a passing game coordinator to help update his offense. That could get me excited about Jimbo.

For fear of being called a racist, my answer is "Jimbo." I think he's mediocre, but he has a history with LSU/SEC/Recruiting in the South.

I’ll give the guy who was able to win 18 games in two years at Vandy a try.

What's the third choice?

We gonna just pretend like franklin didnt win 9 games a season at vandy TWICE?
Id take franklin, i think he has a higher ceiling, we are currently seeing what jimbo can do at atm with unlimited resources and it aint that great.

If those were my only options I'd just cancel football

Jumbo
He speaks the language and runs his own offense so we don’t have to have the expense of hiring offensive coordinators

Well, since it's going to be Jimbo, I pick Jimbo.
You don't pay someone $100M that doesn't have the resume to back it up. There are only 3 guys that can demand that: Urban, Jimbo, and Saint Nick.

eh, neither.
but there’s no name floating around that makes me excited. There’s Saban and then everyone else in college football. No one is going to beat that guy consistently he’s too obsessed and miserable and determined to win the west.
