No way he would win next year. He’s the best recruiter to ever live and he knows his success is directly related to the players he has on the field and the time spent to develop them.

He would need a year or so to weed out the guys that don’t buy in and establish his system. And a year or so to get the recruits.

No he wouldn’t. No depth and serious lack of talent on the Oline

The right hire could have us instantly in the hunt, especially with the new transfer rules, under the right circumstances.

1 - if the hire is made in enough time to try to put together something for the early recruiting period (or at least convince some big names to hold off)

2 - if the hire can bring in 3-5 ready to play offensive lineman and 2-3 line backers through the transfer portal.

No. Unfortunately, the new coach will need time to change the culture that has clearly eroded. Saban built that and Miles did maintain it for the most part, but the competitive/winning spirit is merely a morsel of what it once was.

He would need to overhaul our entire O- line. That, if nothing else would push it to year 2.

With that roster?

He's a coach not a magician.

Why? Are you not familiar with the new transfer portal rules?

Also a better ran offense would do wonders to make the offensive line look better.

The roster isn't nearly as bad as the record is.

QB - should be much improved. Maybe Brennan. Nuss another year. Insert Howard.

RB - more depth and a year of experience

WR - full of studs

DL - seems we recruited well here. Once healthy, they are deep and can be a strength.

DB - will be fine.

S - need Sage Ryan to come along, and get some help. But this group could be fine.

So it's really just OL and LB.

I would say 2 years to recruit and hit the trasfer portal. Walker Howard as Qb. Would need to strongly work on OL and LB. 2 years maybe 3

I think people underestimate the momentum Bama will have even after Saban leaves. Their roster is stacked, and will remain so for two to three years after he leaves. The Alabama admin will do whatever they possibly can to maintain that momentum. In short, it Saban hypothetically came to LSU next year, I think it would even take him a few years to tear down what he’s built.
