Woodward whiffed on Kelly

Woodward has done some great things since being here.
Despite that, He whiffed on the Kelly hire
Come to think of it, the last 2 football coaches he’s hired have failed. Jimbo and Kelly.
Can we trust him to hire correctly this time?

Woodward is a clown who screwed up 3 hires in the two biggest college sports. Jimbo at A&M, Kelly at LSU and the stabbing in the back of Will Wade. Two sports he left in ruins. Woodward has a problem and he doesn't need to be the one finding the coach.

I love Woodward. He has built strong relationships everywhere he has been and we are better set for the future.

Hard to really blame him with BK. On paper it was about the safest hire he could have made. I don’t think anyone expected him to butcher half the assistant hires

Brian Kelly was a Safe hire. It’s the contract that he fricked up royally that was complete shite show.
Kelly wasn’t a grand slam by any means but it was a safe hire kind of a blah but safe

I always felt like Kelly was the concession hire after Woodward missed on his initial target

We have 2 baseballs championships with his hire
One basketball championship with his hire
A gymnastics championship
Renovations to facilities to keep us ahead of the curve.
Preceding that and going track to his days at Washington, I don’t think you find a better resume for an AD option for us.
He might be the best AD in the SEC
That said, his last 2 football hires have been bad.

The problem with people like the OP, is they that they haven’t the first clue how a business is run. Or even the basics of how a business is run. LSU is a billion dollar business. From top to bottom. They think that football and basketball are the only two portions of that job that matters.
As usual with these people, so completely and insanely short sighted, they believe if a businessman doesn’t bat 1.000, he should be fired.

Woodward did miss on Kelly. Yes he was the "safe" hire to fix the mess that O left. but He was also supposed to DO SOMETHING with the resources we have and he didn't pan out. There was always something wrong with his teams. Woodward has done a great job with WBB and Baseball and other sports hires. More than submitted his legacy in a positive way.
Hell we're one more CWS championship away from another LSU baseball "Dynasty" years. And I for one am stoked. I remember the 90's as a young kid seeing LSU all over baseball; and the frustration of the 2000/2010's with LSU just not able to get back as other schools started pouring more resources into baseball. Can you tell I'm ready for baseball season!
