Saban runs the defense.

Aranda doesn’t fit the yes man requirement.

I don't think Aranda would do that for the sake of his own pride. Aranda is a Jedi that does not go to the dark side. I think deep inside, he wants to beat Alabama. He doesn't seem like a "easy way out" kinda guy.

Aranda has autonomy at LSU. Not sure why he would give that up to run Saban's defense.

Yes and Joe Alleva will probably waive the buyout too.

LSU would match the money regardless of price and I would think Aranda would rather be a DC under Orgeron than Saban.

That is very true. Saban will probably hire Derek Dooley or someone else that will more than happy to let Saban be HC and DC.

This is incredibly stupid. Saban does not need to spend a fortune on DC’s. It’s his actual area of expertise..

Aranda doesn’t strike me as a guy who would like a 4’ tall maniac stomping down the sideline cussing him out every which way he could. Aranda strikes me as a professional, and that is how he carries himself at all times. He won’t go for that now that he has made it to this level.

No chance.

Saban usually selects an up and comer with previous experience in his system.

Coach Saban will either promote from within or go to the NFL for Coach Pruitt's replacement I'm pretty sure. As for Coach Aranda, unless it's an NFL job or a respectable power 5 program he's not leaving Red Stick.

Yep, a really rough 2016 and 2017 for the Tigers.

12-4 in the SEC the last two years with back to back New Years Day Citrus Bowl's, all the while with O in the process of trying to clean up the Miles Mess.

Just put up 45 points and 600+ yards Total Offense a few weeks ago against mighty Aggie (And easily could've been 60+ with TO in the 700's if Offense had been running on all cylinders) and 54 in 2016.

Got the Bama 7 in a row going now.

We all know that the 7.5/10 "Jimbo Fix" will bring an SEC West Championship to College Station too. (Just like the Chavis hire did)

Is it?

LSU DC has full autonomy without the Saban umbrella. Not saying Smart and Pruitt aren't or weren't in charge, but at LSU the responsibility is fully in the DC's hands, with similarly elite athletes, and a HC that, unlike Saban, has never coordinated a defense. (Regardless of what Tiger Ree would like you to believe.)

It might not be a better job but it's definitely not worse.
