Why would a Chip Kelly hire be bad for the SEC?

And I’m not just talking Florida, I mean Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Arkansas or Texas A&M.

What about him screams “terrible decision”?

Nothing. He could be a good coach again.

Because his cheating will rival Saban and Bama's. The SEC offices will not allow that to happen. See Mississippi.

He's the best out there imo. I think he is best fit at atm. I would have said uf but he won't consider a total rebuild imo

It wouldn't be a terrible decision, but I thought it was pretty well documented the guy absolutely hates recruiting.

Because he’d murder the rest of the conference and the nation with Florida’s athletes.

I think he is a great coach. I also think he would jump at any opportunity the NFL gives him.

Nothing. People are just stupid and pretend like he didn’t do anything in college.

I would argue that what he did at Oregon can't be done again.

The game has changed. He brought a offensive revolution to CFB, and now it's closer to the norm. Maybe I'm wrong, but I see him as no more special than Malzahn.

It's only stupid when he's rumored to be going to us.

One thing and one thing only: his teams are finesse, not physical. Anytime Oregon played anyone slightly physical they would lose (Stanford, etc.). This would continue I assume at any SEC school. And with the amount of more physical teams in the SEC it could lead to him being a bust and the school that got him being a dumpster fire (again)

This is fake news. Oregon blasted Harbaugh’s Stanford teams that had Andrew Luck in 2010 and 2011. Those Stanford teams were 1-loss teams that would have played for the title if it wasn’t for Oregon. They also beat Wisconsin in the rose bowl who had a physical ground and pound attack mixed with a great passing game. Russell Wilson and Montee Ball were on that team

Oregon lost to Stanford in 2012 with Chip. In 2013 they lost but that was under Helfrich.

You do realize Chip Kelly lost to every SEC team, except Dooley's Tennessee, that he coached against while at Oregon right? That in and of its self should be a red flag.
And he lost to Stanford twice (his first season (under the mighty Harbaugh) and his last one). So he went 2-2 against Stanford. He can definitely win games but he has trouble against some teams, SEC in particular.

Chip Kelly wouldn't be recruiting Oregon athletes to go against the SEC, though: he'd be able to easily attract SEC caliber defensive players.

We're looking at Chip Kelly having access to all of Florida and an SEC defense, on top of his extraordinary offense.

I don't like it at all.

His teams at Oregon were like this. He didn't have the beef and size in the Northwest.

He'd get it at Florida. He'd dominate at Florida.

Plus, I'm sure he honed his craft in the NFL like Saban did.

I think he would be a great hire, but if i am not mistaken, the SEC office has already stated that any school that hired him would be under immediate scrutiny going forward.

No school wants that. Vandy doesn't want that.

He lost to #1 Auburn and #4 LSU. Guy's a bum.

There's an SEC approval needed to hire him. I've not seen anything that indicates the SEC would apply resources to monitoring his recruiting.
