Why the wait at McNeese?

Very little money to work with, think they could be potentially waiting on OC/DC in either the FCS or FBS level to finish up and decide if they want to move on. Probably from what McNeese posters have said there could be discussions still on what direction they want to go in the type of guy they are looking for.

I’d rather see them hire someone young and ambitious rather than settle on a “McNeese Guy”. So what if he’s only there for a few years?

They’ll probably name Kerry Joseph. And I like Kerry, but I don’t know if he’s ready to be a head coach. There seems to be some debate over who had playcalling responsibility this season.

They are waiting until all of the qualified candidates are hired elsewhere, so they will have all of the excuses in the world to hire some McNeese hanger-on who will work for peanuts and fellatio from the Lawton family.

Like others have said. A committee of 8 has been formed and Keasler is on it. That’s my only hope bc the rest seem to be boosters which tells me they are on it to be yes men. I’m not a fan of large committees. I’ve also heard that they really want to go outside of the McNeese circle. Current AD seems to have a preference for 2 things...hire a lackluster coach from within or go to his good ole boy circles from the past. Hopefully they do a real search and find a diamond in the rough like Viator. That’s probably all the money will allow.
