With Alleva in charge and Les about to walk the plank? Seems like a sign of intelligence to me.

Of course in 2015 the narrative here was that Leslie “encouraged him to seek other opportunities” so he could hire Aranda.

Was that bullshite then? Or is the “he bailed on LSU before” bullshite now?

but I really think it was an excuse to get away from Les and Alleva.

You have documentation to prove this?

any Alabama state retirement would be a fraction of his net worth.

How many thousands of dollars would YOU sacrifice? He's earned it, why piss it away?

Considering how he bounced from LSU after a season for a lateral move to a rival school, that might have rubbed the admin the wrong way.

It was mutual, he was not a good dc while at LSU.

Also, $70K/yr retirement is the equivalent of living off 7% return on $1mm investment. That a reasonable long term return on retirement (safe) investment.

This board and the shitty LSU fans tried to run him out of town. I doubt he would want to come back to these shitty arse fans.

He held Burrow to 23 points, remind me how Clemson did...(hint:it was 42)
He schemes against SEC West talent year in and year out, tell me about the powerhouses of the ACC Clemson plays. And as of the past 5 years Clemsons talent is far superior!

that was because of that ridiculous NFL DL. That's how Clemson shut down Bama in that national championship game with Tua. Everything is a lot easier when you have guys that should have went in the top 2 rounds the previous year, come back as seniors.

The stuff that has come out since Harsin was hired leads me to believe a lot of the rumors were complete lies. I honestly don’t know what to believe. Napier was never offered and Clark initiated talks with us and we were never even interested. The only serious candidates we were after were Venables and Cristobal. I’m not saying boosters weren’t putting shite out there to scare Auburn into hiring Steele because that is absolutely plausible.

I didn’t like his defense when he was here and was happy as hell when he left. I hope he doesn’t come back.

A guy marking millions is worried about a state employee pension... some of you all need to get real.

He was an awful DC at LSU too. We had a worse defense than when Malveto was here or just as bad which is saying something.
