Does their AD know something? On paper seems like a good hire for them.

Would Kevin Steele have been a great hire 3 years ago?

The guy doesn't even run his own show, Saban always has a hand in the Defense. Can we at least aim for someone who has coordinated their own unit?

Because they got burned with Dooley - ex Saban asst and they probably want a sitting head coach

At this point though, with the ones that have turned them down, Smart might make the most sense

I would still like to see Smart in a head coaching position to determine if he can lead a program but Muschamp never did and has Florida pointed in right direction despite last year's debacle

I have been trying to say this to the Bama faithful who think he would be a great HC. How the hell do they know? He goes into an interview with Auburn acting as if he has Saban's credibility. Dude will find someone to take a chance on him, but imo I am glad he didn't come to AU. He hasn't proved a damn thing except he likes to nestle up to Daddy nicks ball sack.

He makes all the defensive calls but Saban can overrule him.

And Saban is in the defensive meeting room, and has a hand in the gameplan.

Like I said,it's not his show, it's shared.

No, Their AD may be ran out of town if you hire someone with NO HC exp. to take over the UT. I think Smart would be an awesome fit for Southern Miss.

Alabama has Saban connections, try not to get the two confused.

Both also coached Auburn if you are looking for a connection.
Also seems Smart would at least warrant a n interview
