He's had a top 20 offense everywhere he has been. He took practically the same Texas offense that looked like shite in 2015 and had them the 16th ranked offense in 2016.

But yeah lets hire the offensive juggernaut Steve Ensminger. .

Watched tape, this isn't very true. And it certainly isn't true about his tape at USF and Tulsa. Very balanced

I can't wait to bitch about LSU having (potentially) a top 20 offense. Hopefully, if he's hired, a devoted poster on here will watch some games and see how accurate these probably drunken twitter rants by USF fans were.

Gilbert is legit, when rumors swirled about us possibly bringing back Strong. The only reason i wouldnt have minded was if he brought Sterlin with him as OC/QB coach.

(according to the rant)

This is very accurate.

Wasn’t his offense at USF this year ranked in the top 10 nationally?

Because of Quentin Flowers, not genius playcalling

There’s no way Gilbert is gonna come in here and tell the HC & Dave freaking Aranda how practice is gonna be run. If this is what he did, I’m sure O is aware and it will be addressed in the hiring process. Now, you may say “O didn’t address the fact that Canada was a known a-hole before hiring him”. And to that I’d respond “yeah, well...uhhhh”

The fact that he’s jumped jobs every year is a bit scacry

His jumps were mainly following head coaches that loved him. E Illinois to Bowling Green followed Babers (former Briles Assistant). Then onto Tulsa under Montgomery (another Briles Assistant). Then onto Texas under Strong and followed him to USF.

Only two jumps from head coaches: BG to Tulsa (step up) and Tulsa to Texas (step up).

this would be a million times better than a TE coach at OC.

A TE coach as OC that set yardage records in just a few games at LSU? You justify Gilbert by saying he put up some yards. But I’m sure you totally discount all the yards ensminger put up last season. LSU fans are beyond delusional.

Its a complete mob mentality.

People get a name in their heads and thats all that matters.

False.

There is a reason why Gilbert’s name is getting positive feedback and Eddie Gran’s name isn’t.

Gilbert has had at least 3 years of success. ensminger had 8 games.

which sounds extremely similar to the late Les Miles offense we all came to know and love

I think most LSU fans have already figured out that we traded Les in for a lesser Less 2.0.

All my UT friends liked him, and they were upset when he wasn’t retained.

Using someone else’s system and plays. Who knows what kind of offense he would install, cam’s system again?

USF fans want him gone. I also remember Texas fans didn't like his play calling ability either. The knock on him is predictable playcalling.

They are gassed most of the time now, due to an abnormal amount of 3 and outs. At least with an offense that scores, the defense can give up a few points without a guaranteed loss.

I think a lot of people are sold on him simply because he isn’t Ensminger.

Ensminger has had his audition. He was not good years ago and he couldn't score against Bama, UF, or Notre Dame. We already hired Orgeron after a failed audition, why make the same mistake? Les Miles and Cameron set records against South Carolina the previous year. Does that mean we should have stuck with them? It is about what these guys have done on the big stage, and they have all been terrible against good competition. Hiring Ensminger is settling for mediocrity once again.
