Why is this board sold on Gilbert?

From what I can tell from reading other boards, UT and USF fans don't care for him and UCF fans want him to stay at USF (which is most telling and not encouraging whatsoever).
Apparently his playbook is pretty predictable by either running it up the middle or throwing deep down the sidelines with the occasional screen pass thrown in... which sounds extremely similar to the late Les Miles offense we all came to know and love (pukes).
Granted, this is all hearsay, but why is this board sold on this guy?

Players won’t have to learn new system. This was Canada’s playbook as well, with motion and jet sweeps added in. Great fit for LSU.

Its a complete mob mentality.
People get a name in their heads and thats all that matters. I'm not sold on the guy at all. He hasn't been at a school long enough to recruit and develop a QB.

Hmmmm....kinda like people here wanted jimbo, crowton, cameron, canada, etc gone. Fans can be complete idiots sometimes. They live all over the country although Im starting to think there is a greater concentration in Louisiana. Fans will never be happy man.

Because armchair quarterbacks are the end all when it comes judging coaches.
Instead of looking at Message boards and emotional, knee jerk fans....how about you look at his numbers and results? Crazy concept, I know.

His system is similar to freeze where they let the numbers dictate where they go with the football. Some of the plays may seem predictable but if you don't have the numbers to stop it what's the use. He also runs a lot of power plays in the run game. It's an effective offense that'll score a lot of points for us.
