Why is Herman quitting on his team a good thing?

I've seen several posts saying "Herman doesn't care about this season he has already taken (insert job here) and is just going through the motions" in an apparent attempt to justify his recent losses.
Herman supporters, mainly UT and LSU fans, please explain how a coach quitting on his team is a positive...

Herman cares. The players quit cause they know they will suck again

Not trying to be devils advocate, but what leads you to this assumption? Getting your arse kicked by SMU is a combination of things, certainly including lack of preparation by the head coach.

How badly did UH suck without Herman?

Greg Ward may be Herman's Pat White, and we've seen how well Rich Rod has done without him.
Herman may be a great coach, but the excuses made for this guy for getting his shite kicked in by SMU are crazy.

They won 8 games the year before Herman got there- and the coach got fired

Is there any dumber explanation than this? Let's hire a coach that the players quit on. Lsu has an interim coach. The players do not know who their coach will be, however, they haven't quit on their coach.

The players quit on him so he would stop kissing them. JS.

You're talking about a guy that kisses all his players before each game. You really think that guy quit on his team?

you gotta be some dumb to buy that

I can tell you that I didn't like it that Coach O left USC when he could have coached the bowl game that year. And it wasn't like he left to go to his new job.

Hey Lester, the Cubs fan from LA with 200k posts, did I say I buy it? It is, however, a common message that I see on this board so I thought it would be something worth discussing.

It could just be that a team full of 2 and 3 star players and no depth are banged up and tired. Every week they get a teams best effort in an attenpt to knock off a ranked contender. It happens to lots of well coached teams. Only difference is those teams usually have the depth in the roster to overcome the adversity.

He hasn't quit on his players. That's unfair to even suggest

Saban did the same thing versus Iowa before he jetted to the NFL
Posted on 10/28/16 at 8:54 pm to John Cena
Except that wasn't just a few games into the season and Saban had actually announced he was leaving after the regular season had ended.
