LSU needs to do what’s best for LSU.

Frick the media. They will never paint LSU favorably. Look at how they’ve talked about Kiffin just because he’s connected to this job. The asshats on Gameday can’t stand it.

The media has never done LSU any favors and never will. Quit bowing down to them.

Has Mel Tucker worked since being terminated “for cause” from Michigan State…?

Bro Mel Tucker sexually harassed a sexual assault prevention employee. He jacked off on the phone with her without her consent. That’s next level crazy shite there.

Do you think the way the admin has handled this situation is best for LSU?

Let's look at Nick Sabans tenure at Alabama. in 2013 Saban had obviously been successful, yet his agent flirted with Texas. The outcome wasn't about money to Saban, it was about being able to run his program, his way. He even said so recently, and very vocally, that he didn't have time, and would not, deal with BOSs, boosters, admins, tampering and interfering with his program. That's the way it should be when you hire a coach.

Brian Kelly proved enough success at ND to warrant 4 years of unabated, unilateral decision making at LSU, and in no time Woodward started screwing with him about who to hire. BK quickly mailed it in. I still think a person should give 100%, but guys who have maxed out what can be accomplished at any place of work, including ND, aren't going to let PR guys like Scott Woodward, and the dunces that control La politics through their money, screw with them. The people that run Louisiana aren't serious people. They think they know how the world works, and they truly don't. They just know how it works in South Louisiana. Grift, corruption, who-you-know and paid politics. So now the law will tell them how it works.

He's a fricking prick. Yes, there's the letter of the contract etc. But ffs if he had any dignity he'd say "I completely failed to deliver on my promise to the LSU family so I'm going to happily take a mere 30 million."

But he has no fricking dignity.

Technically, if he is still employed by LSU, then another employer would be required to buyout his contract from LSU. His employment by LSU needs to be severed in order for that buyout provision to be eliminated.

He is obligated to get a job, that will offset a portion of the buyout.
Pretty clear he has no interest in that so his attorneys are using this as a strategy - pretty stupid strategy.

This is the only explanation as to why Denbrock left suddenly and the year 2 drop off on D prior to that. Year 1 was a great coaching job by Kelly, House, and Denbrock given the roster and talent although we did sacrifice special teams because we used Polian to build the roster and just didn't have enough players to field a separate special team's squad.

There is no such thing as a full buyout. This is how it works.

1. LSU continues to pay 90% of his salary for the next ~6 years.
2. BK is required to search in good faith for a job.
3. If he gets a job, the buyout is reduced by the amount of his new salary.

There can and will be a settlement for an amount less than $54 million. Far less. Neither side wants this mess to drag on for 6 years.

There is no reason for LSU to pay a lump sum of $54 million. The present value is less than that. The value of a new job would reduce the buyout even further.

Everything that you hear until this is settled is posturing by the lawyers for advantage. That's it.

Legal and court of public opinion posturing. It was on every major sports outlet and we’re talking about it which is what BKs team wants

The litigation that piece of shite started being the reason he can’t get a job is laughable.

He can’t get a job because he is a bad person responsible for 1 death and partially for another and instead of doing what he was paid to do he treated the job like a shift at McDonald’s. Until Scott Woodward resurfaces he will remain unemployed

Its 100% bullshite from his side. Hes trying to improve his position at the negotiating table, just as LSU's "for cause" firing is the same.

Its pretty well known within the coaching circles that BK hasn't attempted to get a job this cycle. The job he wants - Michigan State - isnt even open (yet).

If/When it opens up, expect BK and LSU to come to a fairly quick settlement so he can accept the position without any additional baggage. Just like LSU did with Les Miles/Kansas and you just saw Penn State did with Franklin/VT

Aside from Mulkey and Johnson who were easy to see would be successful, Woodward has a long track record of dogshit hires.

Why do I think of Jim McElwain whenever BK gets brought up? At least McElwain was not the actual guy laying naked on the shark. BK will forever be remembered in creepy recruiting videos and for fake Cajun accents.

Very damning that ND hasn’t fallen off after him. What kind of loser comes to win a natty and just sits on his arse? Maybe he read that a caveman could do it after Ed O won a natty. Say what you want about the shrimp boat captain. Ed worked his arse off. Les ate grass and called for the QB to clock in on 4th down in Oxford but he still recruited lights out. Les is basically Mack Brown 2.0.
