There’s just no way I see this happening. Sure, FSU has had a down year but they can’t be stupid enough to run Jimbo off.

He’s spend his entire time there building that program. He’s recruited damn well, averaged 10 wins, and won a national title. To leave a program he’s built from the ground up, in an easier conference for A&M would be monumentally stupid.

He’d be taking a step down.

Who cares? The guy has underachieved post Jameis. No excuse to go 6-6 with the talent on that roster.

I'd be so pissed if I was an FSU fan. Its the same shite at the end of every season with him. But he isn't leaving that guaranteed buyout money.

Do you really not know how ‘down’ FSU was when he got there?

if he didn't come to LSU, a better program where he has strong ties, he surely ain't going to A&M

Tough to turn things around when it starts to slip.

If he can’t turn around this season at FSU, then he sure isn’t worth 7 million plus. Many great coaches have had a losing season then return with good and great seasons.

There were many threads on this last year on why he would accept the lsu job.

It's easier to start over at a new program.

You should win 8 games minimum with little effort at FSU

Bobby Bowden is retired. He is the one who built Florida State "from the ground up".

Let's do a quick recap. Between 2006-2017, Florida State has 4 seasons of fewer than 8 wins (2006, 2007, 2009, 2017).

Over that same timespan, Texas A&M ALSO has 4 seasons of fewer than 8 wins (2007, 2008, 2009, 2011).

FSU went 7-6 in 2009 because Bobby Bowden didn't know whether the games were home or away and Mickey Andrews tried to retire after 2008, was begged to stay another year by Bobby, and coached the 2009 defense (that ranked in the 100s) completely checked out after the death of his son. Mickey started guys like Craig Yarborough and Korey Mangum who had no business even being on the practice squad because he wanted to reward some hard working seniors on his way out. As bad as Bobby let it slide, from 2006 to 2010 FSU had one recruiting class outside the top 10 and that was like 20. Some people need to quit sharing Jimbo's delusion that FSU was Duke when he got there and the start of his tenure in 2010 is the only reason a team that finished in the top 4 every year from 1987 to 2000 with 2 NCs is on the map.
