Four games ago, the Aubs were done with him.

I just don't get this one.

For the record, I hope Gus gets a lifetime contract at Auburn.

I would take Gundy twice over Gus.

This is more about Gus wanting the Piglets.

Auburn fans flip flop worse than any fanbase I've seen

Yep. The ceiling is much lower at Arkansas than schools like Bama, auburn, Lsu, etc. Small recruiting base.

That has nothing to do with what I was referring to.

You can win at Arky and win big. Gus is a smoke and mirrors show. I keep going back to the fact that Aubie wanted to shite can him four games ago.

The way i see it, if Gus was such a good coach he would have Auburn at a high level every week and not be on a hot seat. If he can’t do it at Auburn, how in the hell would he do it Arkansas?

Why would Gundy leave his Alma Mater that he has built up to a respectable program for a rebuild job?

They're an extremely finicky bunch.

He's coached there at Arkansas as an OC before he was hired at Arkansas State, I think he still has family there. He coached at Arkansas State before he was hired at Auburn to be the OC in 2009.

I also don't think the Auburn fans like him very much. It's just what I've heard on the radio, I have nothing to really base that on other than sports talk radio but I've heard that a few times.

The AD at Auburn is a lame duck AD so Malzahn right now has all the leverage in the world.

If I were him, if I wanted to stay at Auburn, I want at least a 5 year contract increase, I want a say in who my AD is going to be as well.

Gus is 3rd or 4th on most Hog fans wish list.

We have to have a coach that has a wrinkle offensively. A defensive coach won't work for us.

I'm only ok with Gus if he'll bring in a dual threat QB.

I want Norvell, Leach, Kiffin or Venables over Gus. I would support him but I think it would be a bad hire in the long run.

He is from Arkansas....walked on at Arkansas as a freshman and was a high school coach in NWA. Arkansas was a dream job of his.

But I would rather have Kiffin.

But to answer the question....Gus has always had a portion of the fan base that wanted to see how he could do at Arkansas. With Bert failing, it opened the door for those that are close to Gus to make a push for him.

Won't happen. He's a young head coach with two years experience presently on a ship riding high in the water. I don't see him jumping ship to Arkansas in riding a ship that's been riding pretty low in the water. If Norvell takes the job and tanks, good possibility, then his resume is screwed for a few years making it hard for him to get back to the top of the ladder. Keep winning at Memphis and in no more than another two years he will be able to name his own boat.

His wife is from Fort Smith and he’s the all time leading reception leader at UCA in Conway. It’s been said by people in Memphis that Arkansas is his dream job and really wants the offer. It’s dumb to think he wouldn’t jump at the opportunity to prove his worth. He’s the best possible hire, IMO.

What???

Norvell is a sure thing.

I think we offer Gus and if he says no we hire Norvell.

I wish we would offer Kiffin first though.
