Why I Don't Want Kiffin As Head Coach

There are some people on this board who seem fascinated with Kiffin.
I will agree that he does have a great offensive mind, but that does not make him a great or even good head coach.
What LSU needs is someone who can build a program, not run an offense. There is NOTHING in Kiffin's history that even hints at his ability to do that. He's a play-caller, much like Mike Leach.
I pray that Woodward understands this and goes after someone with a track record of winning at a high level and building something, not hanging around for two or three years then heading for the next great opportunity.

I'm ready for an innovative offensive minded coach, it doesn't have to be Kiffin, but he fits the bill, along with a few others.

Also, what has been his longest coaching stint? Anyone? He can’t help it.

He and Durkin did a pretty good job of filling defensive holes through the portal. Now they aren’t a stout defense by any measure but they are much improved from last year.
Corral was about to transfer before Kiffin was hired. Kiffin got him to stay and developed him into a 1st round pick.

He will be looking to better deal LSU the moment he arrives on campus. He has screwed over too many schools to merit our consideration.

Who in the board is better than him at building a program?

What you should have put was:
“Becuz I’m a big dummy”
“Becuz I’m a big dummy”

The thing is there really won’t be a better deal. There’s like 2 jobs in America that would be better than the one he has.

Woodward isn't hiring a twitter clown like Kiffin. People need to get over it. The next coach is going to be well spoken, reserved, and not a constant public embarrassment to the University, I can guarantee that.

I’m definitely open to Kiffin.
He fits the bill as an offensive innovator, which is the #1 requirement imo.
He gets a bit of a bad rap based on some things that happened when he was anointed as a wunderkind at 30 years old and couldn’t quite handle the power, fame, and responsibility that came with that hype.
After Oakland, his on field results have been good to stellar.
He jumped from Tennessee to USC quickly, which shouldn’t have surprised anyone when that job unexpectedly came open. He didn’t leave USC voluntarily. Then stayed at Alabama as a coordinator for as long as anyone should have expected. He then stayed at FAU, which was clearly a stepping stone job, longer than I thought he would honestly.
Ole Miss, unfortunately for them, is also a stepping stone job. It’s not like he’d leave there to go to Arkansas or probably not even Auburn. If he gets a shot at an LSU, UF, or Alabama, he’ll leave and no one should have anything to say about it.
And aside from some light hearted quips, what has he done recently that’s at all controversial? So he was cruising bars for coeds 5 or 6 years ago as a newly single guy still in his mid 30s. Not exactly the same thing as crusty arse grandpa Ed creeping on any blonde in sight.
Other than that, what concerns would Kiffin raise when people bring up our own Title IX issues?
He seems to have mellowed out and settled into his 40s pretty quietly, and is still young enough to bring a ton of new energy and excitement to a school that hasn’t had a coaching hire like that in....hell, ever??
I have guys like Riley and probably even Franklin ahead of him on my wish list. But I can honestly say if he gets the chance to jump to Florida, as an LSU fan I’d be absolutely dreading facing Spurrier 2.0 in Gainesville for the next 25 years.
Gator fans would feel the same if LSU actually hires the next Spurrier this time like they should have in the 80s.

Have you watched ole miss play these last 2 weeks? Their defense is still shitty.

I wish I had more than one upvote to give. He’s poison.

If Kiffin gets hired within 2 years we will be right back where we are now. For everything that is positive about him, there is a multitude of bad things that overshadow them and the biggest thing is his lack of maturity.

He runs a gimmick offense. We can recruit talent to LSU, no need for gimmicks.

His gimmick offense looks pretty good this year, how long has Kiffin been living rent free in your psyche?

Please list all the schools he’s “screwed over”.

Please list the “multitude of bad things” he brings as a HC and also list examples of his “lack of maturity” in the past say 5 years.
TIA

Well everyone around here has been smoking his pole for the last 2 weeks. I just don’t want the guy as the coach. Why do you like him so much?
