If O didn’t like his offense and wanted to meddle?

If there is already talk of Canada moving on after one year?

If he already had a reputation as a bit of a vagabond coach?

If O basically admitted that he could only be successfull with elite coordinators?

Why the hell hire Canada in the first place?

I think this will be an ongoing theme as long as O is the coach and will ultimately lead to his downfall.

With hiring O , Alleva mandated that we hire a rock star reputation OC. He is not, and I hope we move on from him.

O needs to explain himself. He sold his hire on hiring the best OC and O would stay out of the offensive calling business.

O hires Canada
O gets involved in the offensive calling business
O gets exposed that he really knows nothing about offensive schemes and play calling
O is backed down by JA

O blames it all on Canada
O wants Canada Gone

O needs to explain how we got here.

This is the weakness of the O scenario.

To win championships, the coordinator revolving carousel has to work FLAWLESSLY. Sounds good in theory, but real life seldom goes that way. Personalities, egos, better career offers all come into play.

Here, after only ONE year, looking like OC may change. Tough to maintain recruiting momentum with top offensive talent if they don't know who their coach will be and what kind of offensive style the team will play.

O had a deal with Kiffin. Saban didn't like it and had Sexton find a HC job for Kiffin. O's plan B was to promote Ensminger, Alleva said no. They threw money at Canada because he was the only offensive Broyle's finalist last year with out really getting in to the philosophy.

O has determined he doesn't like it because it is too complicated for the WRs, he thinks it is too soft, and it requires running tempo which exposes the LSUs Defense.

O wants a balanced, aggressive prostyle offense. Different from Miles who wanted a run oriented prostyle.

Orgeron hires him because his binder plan with kiffen fell through and ponamsky looked through TD to see the fan favorite choice

I was told that Canada was an Alleva hire more than an O hire.

That’s kind of my point. Didn’t O know this when he hired Matt? If not, why the hell didn’t he?

Why hire an OC who’s philosophy didn’t mesh with the head coach?

Canada’s system doesn’t rely on running tempo.

It relying on changing tempo and looks to keep opposing teams off balance.

We still huddle up. LSU has just been so slow we wouldn’t know a normal tempo looks like.

Ponamsky saw the Tiger Rant and told O that's what we wanted.

I think what the poster is saying is a tempo offense either
scores fast or has fast 3 and out's, and it tires out your own defense because they are on the field faster and for more plays than a offense that controls the clock.

My theory is Aleva made that move because of this message board

This board was gah gah over the Canada hire and this was his way to get on the fans good side

The bigger question is why did LSU hire O . It’s clear that coach O is the problem. Once the AD had a meeting with coach O and his coordinators then the offense got a lot better. I thought Canada’s offense looked good.

You ask this of the guy that hired Coach O? Screwed up the Les Miles situation after A&M game in 2015? The guy who heard Arky was interested in Miles and gave him a huge buyout? Who while at Duke believed a stripper trying to "shakedown" the Lacrosse team?

Enos would do well with LSU talent.
