The Big12 screwed them over by forcing them to play oklahoma twice to win the conference. That decision by the Big12 really hurt those two the most.

As opposed to having to go through Bama twice a year

Seems like OU is being screwed over by having to play one of them twice. A Sooners loss likely means the Big XII is out of the playoff again.

And I'll laugh at everyone who claimed they needed a conference championship game.

The closer the championship game gets, the dumber the Big 12 looks for installing one. The teams already all play each other. They just can't get shite right. All of their moves are totally reactionary and a shot in the foot regarding the playoffs.

Exactly. This scenario was even discussed on these boards back in 2014, yet a lot of well-paid people involved with the conference seemingly didn't consider the potential cons.

in 2011, bama may have been the 2nd best team in the conference but they didn't get a shot at the SECCG. Under the new Big12 format, they would have been there in place of UGA.

Why would Patterson want to down grade ? It’s a lot easier to win at TCU then Arkansas.

Patterson is not leaving TCU, he has a sweet deal & Cowtown is a great place to live.

6 million would be a pay cut for Patterson.

Gundy was someone I thought lsu should have had at the top of the list last year. His teams are fun to watch.

I swear to God if Tennessee, a much shittier current job (and way harder to recruit to) than LSU gets Patterson, I will probably break my phone.

Burn the LSU AD office to the ground.

not sure about that...I think they need to play a championship game to have any chance...the conference is very weak this year, so their champion needs as many quality wins as it can get.

Patterson isn't going anywhere and is dying to get another shot at Baker Mayfield in the championship game.

The dude is at home for good at TCU where he owns the place and is paid handsomely.
