15-0 and a national championship. Why is this concept so difficult to understand for some of you people?

It's a terrible look to pay all these coaches to go away the same year you reduced staff, put in a hiring freeze until 2023, asked staff to take 5% pay cut, and went begging to the boosters for more money, because of the Covid shortfall in revenue.
You keep parroting the same stupid bullshite all over this board. There are fricking cheap assed, short-sighted, stupid, spend a dollar to save a dime and kill the program in the process mother frickers everywhere on this site and you are the worst of them all.
I’m really glad people like you are here instead of doing anything important for my alma mater. Damn. Just damn.

People love to look in hindsight and go “I wouldn’t have done that. I am better than that.”
Fact is, no AD in the country would’ve tried to nickel and dime the coach following that season, it would be career suicide.

No, but you don't make him the 2nd or 3rd highest paid coach in the game! Literally no one was going to swoop in and hire him from you. He should have been given a raise, but not the level of one he got considering the "CEO" arrangement. He knew he was dependent on his assistants, so pay him a little less and guarantee him top dollar for assistants.
Top 5 minimum, but most other programs with title winners go top 3 today. More stupid, short-sighted, cheap-assed thinking here.
Do any of you on this board hire people? Can you actually retain talent? I wouldn’t think so based on these moronic comments. I give my people raises when they accomplish something of note. It’s necessary to both retain talent and avoid the sigma that would inevitably get around that you are cheap. Great organizations aren’t cheap, even when they can be.
The real miss by all of you here is the fact that you are complaining about a symptom, not the real problem. The problem was that we had a weak AD who got spooked by the thought of having to conduct a real search after missing on one candidate and balking at the asking price of another. Everything downstream is a symptom of that problem that Woody inherited. Well, the problem is now in the process of being permanently solved and any remaining symptoms will end shortly thereafter.
I’m happy to look back fondly on that 2019 title, but it’s clear that in spite of the stars aligning one season, O wasn’t the right man for the job. If you want to complain about something, complain about the real issue and waste of money, not the guy who’s been cleaning up the mess without doing additional damage.

It’s because Woody, like seemingly everyone else in leadership these days, is more worried about covering their own arse than they are about all doing the objectively right thing.
At the time of the contract negotiation, public opinion was in favor of big money for Orgeron, so that’s what he did.

Find me the person who wouldn’t have done the same thing and I’ll find you a liar

I don't like when people say "why do you care, it's not your money." It affects the team and the program.
It's like saying, "why do you care Myles is injured, it's not your arm."

We wanted to be conned. Don't blame Orgeron. Many on this board were quite willing to accept this deal. Many in the LSU world had no problem with it.

And Herman was a bullet we dodged and Alleva was smart to tell him to F Off when he kept trying to renegotiate deals he had agreed to.
Herman preferred Texas. That never changed. It wasn't an issue until Texas fired Charlie Strong to keep us from hiring Herman. There was no re negotiating. Once Texas was open Herman wasn't coming to LSU period. Funny the news leaked Thanksgiving evening.
I blame Zero because that is what he does. The man called recruits at Tennessee and urged them not to attend class and follow he and Kiffin to USC. Total trash in ethics!
