So let me get this straight............ some of you would not take Chip Kelly as the head coach of LSU? 
Not trying to be a jerk but are you kidding me? I promise you a guy like Saban doesn't want him around a program like LSU either.

I like Chip Kelly. That said, how ridiculous would it be that LSU fired a guy in order to hire another coach that was beaten soundly by the coach they just fired. It would be like Alabama canning Nick Saban to hire Brian Kelly

Almost every loss he took at Oregon was against teams who won the battle up front against them. Teams who were move physical. That's Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, Ole Miss, etc.
If you think Kelly can just bring the same style and personnel-type that he had at Oregon and win big in the SEC, you're crazy. So yes, he's going to have to change his style some.
I don't expect you to be unbiased, though.

Stanford had a top 5 rushing defense in the country, and one of the best overall defenses. Held Oregon to 14 points, and over 100 rushing yards less than their season average.
Chip Kelly lost games when his teams went up against big, physical defensive lines who could stop the run. That's exactly what teams recruit to do in the SEC.
Yes, Oregon won games out-of-conference against a 6-6 Tennessee team and a good Wisconsin team. However, in high-profile out-of-conference games against highly ranked teams from the SEC and Big Ten (trenches football), Oregon was 1-3 under Kelly.

This is my point. He couldn't run out the same offense and recruit the same type of athletes and win big in this conference. He'd have to adjust from the Oregon days.
Which is why Kelly isn't coming to the SEC. He's gonna go to USC (Pac 12) or Texas (Big XII) where they don't play any defense and his offense can dominate.

My huge concern for Kelly is that he has been pretty open that he is not a fan of recruiting, which is why he likes the NFL.

His staff's recruiting also left them with NCAA violations (while minor) while he was at Oregon.

Here's the thing on Kelly.
When it came to recruiting, Kelly was forced to ravel all the way from Eugene, OR to places like Temple, TX to recruit a lot of his skill players or to Hawaii to find Mariota. He also had to deal with the LA market to bring in players. He literally had to fly on average 3-5 hours to see really good recruits...I would not be a fan of recruiting under hose conditions either.
If Kelly was in the SEC he would have quick access to the hotbeds of FL ( 1hr) ATL ( 1hr), Dallas/Ft Worth (1 hr),
Houston ( 1hr) as well as the state of LA with its abundance of skill players. Recruiting gets easy ifyou don't have to spend the night two time zones away on a regular basis.
I'll say this, Saban / Smart/ Kiffin would get no sleep if they had to prepare for a fully functional Kelly offense with a a top 20 defense as well.

This is kind of what I was thinking. I thought he pretty much disparaged all aspects of the college game except practice and games.
Do you think he would have the fire to keep recruiting year in and year out? I do not remember Oregon classes being that highly rated.
Not saying he would be a bad hire, but I sure as heck would make Jimbo say no first.

So the lowest point total they had, facing the 2nd best defense in the country, was 27 points and that is a negative?
You also failed to mention how they did against Cal & Wisconsin from that season:
Cal - 25th ranked defense...563 yards
Wisconsin - 15th ranked defense...621 yards
Also, they rushed for 232 yards against Stanford, who had the 5th ranked rush defense in the country and 209 yards against USC, who had the 18th ranked rush defense in the country

I've never once said he will stay with the same personnel. I've read about some of the recruits he wanted over the years and not all of em wanted to be in Oregon. What can he do? Work with what he has, and he deserves a lot of credit for doing what he's done. The guy knows offense, who can argue with that? I expect his personnel to be better, bigger, and just as fast overall considering the new resources available to him in his back yard.
I'm not a coach but I'm also not going to argue with what he has proved since his days at NH.
I'll take his record in college, and in the NFL so far and believe in him over someone on a message board who has continually knocked the guy for years.

Saban never took Miami to the playoffs and had only 1 NC. His last season at LSU was 8-5.
I will take my chances with Kelly or keep Les. This seems to be the only logical choices. IMO
