Honest question...why is Mora considered a much better choice? Stanford has beaten UCLA 4 times in Mora's 3 years and I only recall maybe one of those games being close.

One of the reasons Hoke got fired is that he fielded a completely inept offense, and Shaw's overly conservative playcalling gives most Michigan fans nightmares. There's also the issue of coattails - he's winning with the guys Harbaugh brought in and his winning percentage has declined since he started at Stanford. So there's lots of skepticism from people who fear a parallel with Hoke - who started 11-2 by winning with Rich Rod's guys - then tanked.

Mora, on the other hand, has taken strides to resurrect a moribund UCLA program and the feeling is that if he brings his recruiting talents and player development skills to Michigan, where he'd have more resources, he could do well. He's seen as more enthusiastic and more dynamic than Shaw by a mile.

All fair points and I think Shaw has his shortcomings. However, Shaw was Harbaugh's OC, so he had a hand in what was built there and he sustained it until this season.

I admire what Mora's done at UCLA thus far, but I think he's benefitted from USC's NCAA sanctions and they still seem to lose games they shouldn't. Particularly shitting the bed at home to Stanford with a division title on the line.

For the record, I think Mora would be good hire, but UM could do much worse than Shaw.

I think the administration would love him. The fanbase probably would have killed for him a year or two ago. His offense is super conservative and he has shown to be a derp game manager. I would worry about him leaving for the pros within a few years. Fun fact - he was a year ahead of me in middle school/high school while his dad was with the Lions.
the pros usually want good college coaches. They don't want ones that are letting a program slip. Shaw is the most overrated coach in the country

Once again, you're an idiot. UM wants an alum and Shaw is an Alum of Stanford who loves where he is. He isn't going anywhere.

Actually, Griesie said they are not looking for a Michigan man…looking for the best man for the job that would fit their standards in the program and academics…

Griese is on the search committee.

Then, Bob should be searching cause kinda strange the weekend is over and Michigan has yet to fill the job.

Who knows who they land, but if Neb. and Fla. and their last guy are a guide, it will not be a big name. imo

As much as this board seems to hate the idea, Harbaugh to Michigan is a legit possibility.
