Why Campbell over Aranda?

If you were selecting.
I'd prefer Aranda, but would love to hear from those who prefer Campbell.

I’d rather Aranda over all candidates at this point. The longer this Riley shite drags out, the more likely we’re going to end up losing out on our best options if he says no.

They're about even in my book. Similar concerns. Campbell has a longer track record of HC success. Aranda has familiarity with LSU and the SEC.
I think the Campbell talk is because some fake insider was saying Aranda is a done deal to USC.

Either coach would be fine.
Campbell has turned around 2 jobs and has a longer track record.
If lsu fans weren't familiar with aranda would they want him this bad?

No way I take Campbell over Aranda. I pray Woodward isn't dumb enough to take a mediocre head coach like Campbell. What a joke!

Campbell has a longer track record of success as a head coach. Plus Ames is a tough sell to recruits.

Because Aranda is going home to California.

One is a proven program builder and the other has been a head coach less than two years

I like Aranda better but his resume doesn’t stack up to Campbell but I place value on Aranda’s time at LSU and Wisconsin

I like Campbell. He has a proven track record, turned around two programs, been a head coach for 11 years and is still relatively young at 41 years old.

I’d rather Dave but Campbell certainly has a lot of experience and history shows he’s a good coach

Either would be good but Campbell is just much more proven. I think Aranda is a little more risky.

This is a valid question, but it really is as simple as he just has a much longer body of work.
Aranda has been a HC for 19 games. He’s 10-9. Is he a really good football coach that seems to have things moving in the right direction in Waco as a head coach? For sure.
But Campbell resurrected a broken Toledo program and has turned an absolute graveyard of an ISU program into an annual bowl contender and winning conference record in the Big 12.
I just don’t think it’s all that close and wouldn’t even be a conversation if Aranda hadn’t been DC here, and of course we all love him from that time.

IMO Dave’s upside is he’s been at LSU, recruited here, knows the SEC. I would support either hire.

Why Campbell over Aranda or Napier? Napier made him quit in Ames last year.

I wouldn't be disappointed with either. I think Scott will study each coaches inner program. The ability, especially of Campbell, for building a staff and program in Ames. Study the inner workings of each man's overall plan and behavior.
