Why are we celebrating A&Ms failure?

We whiffed big on our two choices for head coach and ended up with orgeron. They got Jimbo, who this board thought was the next coming of Saban. I’d say we have no reason to celebrate and talk about how delusional other fan bases are when we’re posting from this message board. Good god go back and look at those forum archives from a year ago.

Regardless of whether or not any of us feel Orgeron should be our HC, LSU did prove they're willing to pay to keep a great coach.
How in the Hell can you call yourself a fan of LSU after we just retained one of the top DCs in football, but you twist it into a bad thing?
LSU could have taken a huge step backwards tonight. While there are still some major flaws that need fixing, I applaud the administration for making this happen.

They got Jimbo right after one of the worst seasons at Florida state in 30 + years. Makes it easier to swallow.

Maybe I worded that poorly. Not that we shouldn’t celebrate keeping Aranda (I agree we should), but how can we with a straight face call the fans, “more wrong than any other fan base” or “delusional”.

Jimbo basically fit what our needs were at the time of our search, experience and a solid QB developer. I don't see him doing as well at A&M as he would've done here, offense and QBs hasn't been their problem lately.

It's not about Orgeron you fricking dope. It's about the admin stepping up and keeping the best DC in the college game. Can you really not see what's worth celebrating with that? It's fricking HUGE. And the fact that they were so sure they had him makes it all that much more sweet.

Eh, I think Jimbo is a solid coach but the contract they gave him is insane. I think they'll be a 3-4 loss team every year with him and that's their ceiling unless he can find gold with another Jameis Winston. Definitely a possibility with him coaching QBs and his recruiting ability.

Aranda is the future of this program. He will be O's replacement in 2 years. Alleva has retained Aranda so he can replace O once his contract is up. O will not be getting any extension that i can assure you. Alleva knows he fricked up the hire and he is holding on for dear life to get through the next two years without destroying the program. This is a huge win for LSU Football and it's future.
