Why are so many people suggesting Brice Brown wouldn’t leave Karr?

I’ve gotta believe joining the LSU staff would come with a hefty raise.

It may be debatable whether it would be smarter to have him on staff vs continue developing at Karr & just maintain a good relationship with him…

But as to whether he would turn his nose up at an SEC coaching spot, seems a no brainer. What am I missing?

I guess it’s possible he loves high school football and would turn down a 4-5 times his salary raise.

I dont think he will be joining the staff. I think Kiffin knows that New Orleans is an important piece of LSU recruiting and Coach Brown is about the best kind of friend you can have there at the moment

Just break him off some bread on the side and stay within his good graces. Let him comb and develop the best in NOLA and keep the pipeline (money and talent) flowing.

I’m ambivalent but trust Kiffin either way.

But that wasn’t really what I was asking — a not insignificant amount of people here are suggesting he wouldn’t leave Karr if LSU offered, and that seems like a batshit delusion IMO.

There are a lot of stupid minded people out there. There is no way in hell Brown would turn down a coaching job at LSU to stay with any high school with a gigantic raise on the table.

Not every coach wants the college coaching lifestyle, much less SEC, regardless of the money.

I think he'd listen. But, he really loves taking care of the inner city kids albeit at a much lower salary than LSU could offer but much less time demanding. If LSU could pull him, it would be a big win for recruiting in Louisiana. Kids all over the state know who Brice Brown is. That would wear off in a sense with him not leading Karr. I'm not sure he has appeal to the prized national recruits yet, but that could quickly change. Pair him with Honey Badger and you have a home run, as Tyrann already has national appeal and is already part of the brand. It may be somewhat of a work in progress in the short term, with neither having experience, but Kiffin and company could guide them in the right direction.
